my dad said that important, proven hadiths were written down by a scholar (i think) years after the prophets (SAW) death. my dad also said that he (the scholar) researched the validity of the hadithes so, they are pretty much unarguable.

but there are some weak hadiths as well he told me, and i shouldnt place my faith in them because they could be wrong. so tell me.

how do i differ the good from bad (unproven...extremist)?

are there any books i can buy, or websites i can visit?

thanks

Shame

PS: i REALLY dont want to follow unproven hadiths. it feels like your commiting a sin because you dont know if your listening to the prophets (SAW) words or some made up story.

All beliefs must be based on evidence. This is a fact. Therefore if you try to claim you don't require evidence to believe something, you're lying to yourself. For example: If you believe in the Judeo Christian God, you *require* evidence to hold this belief. If you didn't use evidence on which to base your beliefs you wouldn't even know about the Judeo Christian God. The evidence you probably rely on is: a) ancient texts b)religious teachings, and (possibly) c) personal observations.

All very unreliable forms of evidence. Personally, I believe that religions know this and tell their followers not to require evidence..which is knowingly impossible and therefore a lie. Your thoughts?

He is obviously a Christian. By many he is considered the father of modern science.
How do you think the modern scientific establishment would treat him? I think they would black list him. Like they just did the astromoner, Gonzalez. Who co-authored the "Privileged Planet".

Christian fundamentalists are just as bad or worse than Islamic fundamentalists. How can a group denounce another group only to do the same thing?

The latest and greatest public figure that is being told APOLOGIZE!
is Jerry Lewis
Gay rights group to Jerry Lewis: Apologize for slur
http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/09/04/jerrylewis.telethon/index.html?iref=mpstoryview
How many times do we see people in the Media and public office force to say *I apologize* does anyone really want to hear I'm sorry from a person that does not mean it but is only forced to say it?

Why can't people say well if that's how you feel okay,so be it or present themselves in a way that would want the other person to really mean an apology when they say it?

What religious denomination do the Duggars and Juebs from TLC belong to? TLC is frequently showcasing families with many children, but they only hint towards religious ties. I would suspect they were Morman if I had a guess, but I just don't know. The Duggar women all dress plainly with long hair and dresses. The men also wear plain clothing. The Juebs seem a little more contemporary. Both families home school. Anyone know what their religious affiliations are? Just curious.

My daughters aged 27 and 22 live and work or study in London and they both pay very high rents to live in bed-sit squalor. They even have to share their loos. The older girl has to pay her share of income tax on her earnings as well.

Lots of other young women of their age, especially unmarried mothers, are provided with free accommodation, paid for out of taxation, that is mostly new and built to a very high standard.

Sometimes I wonder if I gave them good advise when they were thinking of their futures. They could have spent their time in discos and pubs instead of sitting in their rooms doing home work for A levels.

When I asked her why, she told me because fish isnt meat. It doesnt make sense to me since fish is an animal, it should be considered meat. What do you think?

“He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you, But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).
He loves a heart that beats in the same rhythm as His and a spirit that values the same qualities that define Him. In other words, God wants us to do what’s right, to love kindness, and to model humility.

What are your thoughts? My source is Chuck Swindolls book, "A Life Well Lived."

-"sentadita" (sitting right over there?)
-"atraque" (=in the sense of feeling like having sex with someone, could it be: snog?)
Also how do you refer to famous people in the USA? For instance here in Argentina when we refer to someone famuous we usually put the defenite article first and then the name: Susana Gimenez, turns into "la Gimenez".
