In case some of you don't know or have forgotten, the third commandment is "You shall not take the Lord's name in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain."
My question is, why is it such a big deal? I know it's understandable (as to being wrong) if someone were to say "Oh my god, I'm gunna kill that guy!" or "God, I hate that girl."
But what if, for example, you were shocked by a natural disaster or amazed when you or a loved one accomplished something? Is it wrong to "take the Lord's name in vain" anyway?
