There was this lady that was very special to me in my life, like a grandma that is. She is now deceased. She always gave me cash gifts in cards for Christamas, birthdays. She even left me an inheritance. The problem is that I still have some of the gifts she gave me from this last two years. I kept them as souvenirs in their cards becuase I feel that I will never receive these types of gifts from anyone again. Do you think I should just let go and put them into a savings account?

It seems that you've attached a personal significance to the currency.
Total the amount of interest that you would receive over let's say 10 years, and then ask yourself if someone were to offer you that amount as an incentive to exchange the currency for identical denominations, would you accept?

She gave you the cash because she wants you to spend it on something nice for yourself. You should honor that request. Make a nice art piece with the cards so you'll have a nice memorial of her, and buy yourself something with the money that you will enjoy, and wouldn't normally buy yourself.

Keep the cards and deposit the cash in a bank so you can earn interest.

Put them in the bank...or at least a safe deposit box at the bank. You need to keep them safe and save them for the future.
