Scientific evidence comfirms the universe exploded into being out of nothing. Either someone created something out of nothing, or no one created something out of nothing. Which view is more reasonable? Which view requires more faith?

typicalnotme - you state that atheism is based on logic, science, reason and common sense. Unless you know everyhing there is to know there has to be some faith involved in believing that you are right.
Ol' Doc, I did not say that Atheism is a faith. I just asked which one required more faith.
Siar - you state that Atheism does not require science or knowledge about how the universe or man was created, it means you don't believe in gods. From that I would conclude that your atheism is based on 100% faith, since your beliefs have no basis in science or anything else, you just believe it. That is 100% faith.
YY4Me - I am not trying to prove or disprove the big bang or the existence of God. I simply asked which one requires more faith. By the way where did that compressed matter you state already existed come from?

Atheism requires more faith. Like you said unless we know all there is to know we are operating on faith. At least Christians have the Bible and the hope of eternal life. Atheists have science they fall back on, but that is limited in it's knowledge. Atheists are betting their eternity that they are right.

As I understand the "Big Bang," the universe was formed by an explosion of compressed matter that already existed. That said, this has nothing to do with atheism, rather it has to do with science. You'd get better answers to this question in the Science section of YA.
Of course, it may be that you're not really interested in learning about the origin of the universe, but asked this question to make some kind of theological point. If so, you're off the mark. Even if the Big Bang were to be disproved, it would not prove the existence of any god, including yours.
(Edit)
sallyjane3400, you're wrong. Faith is belief without or despite evidence. We have expectations about chairs, paychecks, cars, etc. because of our experience. Chairs rarely break when sat upon, paychecks are issued on a regular basis, cars generally start, and brakes usually stop the car. That's why most of us are surprised if we sit on a chair and it breaks, or we don't get our paycheck when we expect it, or our car doesn't start, or the brakes don't work. Experience, not faith.
Real things do not require faith.

Whether you're a Christian or Not...Do you think before sitting In a chair..without looking and checking the construction to Insure It will hold your body weight ? It takes faith to take your paycheck, a promisary note to the bank and expect them to cash It. It takes faith to get Into your car & expect It to automatically crank up.or hit your brakes and expect them to work as well.....

Sorry the 'views' expressed are 'lacking' I believe that when God said "Let there be light." BIGGEST BANG! and there was, and, now still is light. See faith calls for TRUST. and God only gave us a minute hint of 'science' by his discourse with this man named Job. All I can say is what I believe. I have heard many theroies the athiests offered. And I have my Bible and what it offers, does reduce the words of the athiest to......many worthless,,,words

Christianity requires more faith because lack of it is what causes one to be a Atheist.
You brought up a very good point.

Scientific evidence shows the matter of the universe moving away from a common center - no more, no less. Draw your own conclusions.

I can't answer for an atheist as I am not one. However as christian I had to start out by stepping out in faith. However as my christian walk evolved I see, feel, and hear my Lord all the time. Now it no longer to takes faith.
