I just got a private message from some dude on here, someone who calls himself a christian...

Of course, he was unwound and all pissy, whining about my answer to one of his questions...i didn't agree with him, and that got his undies in a bundle, so he wrote this:

"I didn't want you to write me. I don't care what you think. I was basically saying don't answer questions you are clueless on and aren't addressed to you. Especially considering you obviously have no room for God in your life. Like you have something to tell me? And you're not rich at all by any means."

If jesus-myth was real -- do any of you think he would appreciate his followers talking smack to other people this way? I call guys like this "false christians" because they never seem to get the message of their co-called "lord"... is this how jesus-myth wants his followers to talk to others? Is this "spreading the message"???

What do you think is the matter with people like this guy?

Thanks John for "Jesus did not tell christians not to argue."

But i was asking -- did jesus-myth tell his followers to talk smack with others? Does jesus-myth want people attracted to the cult, or repeled away from it?

Can you be honest, or is it always all about CYA??

Looks like a pretty good mix of replies so far... I'm curious though...I wonder what jesus-myth would think (were he real) about people who use his name in their label of themselves (christians) and talk smack to others... I thought christian meant follower of christ and his word... i can't imagine the jesus-myth acting this way toward others... I always heard "turn the cheek" and so on... does anyone really get the message? it appears not!

No, Jesus would not want his professed followers to act that way. You do no have to agree with ever thing that another Christian says, believes, or thinks. There is only ONE universal truth about Christ and that is he shed his blood on the cross as a once and final sacrifice for our sins. That is the only important thing that a Christian should grasp. Jesus spent his time in the homes of tax collectors and in the company of plain folk and prostitutes. He said himself that he did not come to heal the well but the sick. You have to ignore people who believe that they have the only answer to the truth about Christianity. God bless and peace and light to you.

First of all, how can god not have room for you or anybody in his/its life, i mean god implies EVERYTHING including me, you, my cup, my tea (mmm tea). Secondly hes just lost in all the metaphorical nonesense and really hasnt even got a clue what the term "God" implies, sad really since its true of most christians. And thats whats the matter with that guy :P

Wow, it was like he was thinking independent of the collective, then came the "G" word.
Got to admit it makes life worth living LOL

Sounds like he was upset. Was that what you were trying for? If you're actually interested in the message of Jesus, you might want to start by not calling him "Jesus-myth." ;-)

Haha. You should see the ones I've received. They make for a good laugh. If they get your goat, then they have succeeded in their mission.

What's the problem? That actually seems pretty tame.

i get those too from whacked-out fruitcake so-called followers of Christ - they are nothing more than bleeding morons who have a bloated sense of self-importance.

So, the moral of this story is...nobody send you messages unless they want them posted on the internet.

Sounds like your the one with your panties in a wad. Nice job demonstrating the old saying about the pot calling the kettle black.
