What did Jesus achieve by dying on the cross?
What was his purpose for dying in this way?
How did he save us from our sins?
What does it mean that we are saved from our sins?
People still 'sin', does it mean that we will all be forgiven by 'God' for all of our sins?
Thank you all for your help.

negative, "you are a sinner that is why god send his son to be tortured and killed...you are bad and god has a hell for you in case you become worse than you already are...and never forget that eve´s sin is with you as well, so you are a sinner for the sins you do and for the one she did, because god is so fair that he blames you for whatever eve did...be blessed and praised the lord"
well i prefer to stay unchristian, unsaved and unidiot...thanks

Is an "affair" necessarily constitute cheating on one's spouse? Is it considered an affair if no intercourse occurred? How long does an association have to be before it is considered an "affair"?

According to Genesis, God created fruiting trees on day 3, animals were not created till day 5.

the oldest fruiting trees, the angiosperms, are not found in all of the same rock strata as the oldest dinosuars. But we should find angiosperm tree fossils in ALL same strata as dinosaurs, and even before, right?

I was told I should ask this in the religion section. So here it is.

I asked once on Y!A Deutschland "what proportion of Germans can speak English?". I didn't get any abuse for my grammar (in fact some of the responses were quite funny), but thinking back, I'm not sure I got the right word order. I think I wrote "Welche Anteil von Deutsche Englisch spreche kann?".
So, is it the correct word order?

P.S. If you are a native speaker PLEASE state it, so that I can prioritise your answer.

Please don't write that he doesn't exist, i know he does. Its just that i prayed so hard for something i truly wanted, not out of greed or anything. But he seems to have not answered it, or at least in the way i expecting him too.

I don't know if he meant it to be this way, but im am kind of angry at him. But at the same time, i know that he can sometime answet prayers in strange ways.

I prayed for a better year, because many bad things happened last year. But i feel so lonely right now, it almost hurts. My friends are changing, and i feel like thier abandoning me. I just wanted happiness this year, and i can't seem to find any of it.

Any advice?

i've been thinking and there are 2 main concepts or precepts that keep religions standing, and it will be so for long from now. i have no doubt religion will be wiped out from the Earth in the long run as more men choose to think and reason instead of just hold blind faith, but i might not be to witness such an event.

"faith": excellent resource used by the creators of religion. There'll never be a single piece of evidence for something that doesn't exist, so "faith" is turned into an overrated virtue. Believe no matter what we can't offer you.

"God's ways are mysterious": We don't get tired of describing God and bestowing more and more attributes on Him, but His ways keep being mysterious. No matter what He does, He's always right. Wonder why we keep worshipping a being whose ways we don't understand and believe blindly. If His ways are mysterious He could easily be setting us up.

Lately I have been more and more put off by, (instead of enlightened by) comments from Christians or other western religion types accusing me of being ARROGANT for not believing in the myth that a God came along and puffed humans into existance.

When I was younger and began to embrace my atheism, I don't remember the anger from Christians being as big as it is these days! I remember (when discussing my religious thoughts with others) getting that initial gasp, then a head shaking, and a finger wagging... I felt misunderstood, but I never remember feeling so hated or despised... And no one ever called me conceited!

Another quick bunch of observations, if you don't mind: Isn't the 'faith' the same, atheist or christian? Why is it suddenly 'arrogant' to believe you understand something? Don't Christians and other western religious types believe that they know what is going on too? Why don't they ever find themselves 'arrogant'?

"Consider the fact that everything God has said in the Bible has proved to be. All the prophecies recorded have been completely accurate and were fulfilled down to the smallest detail"

Is this correct? Also how many unfulfilled prophecies are there? Does anyone know if there are any or do we onlt concentrate on the positive ones whilst using propaganda?

Oh you're the best friend that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine and I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
Oh you're my best friend

Oooh you make me live

Oh I've been wandering round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me guys
I'm happy at home
You're my best friend

Oooh you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive
Oooh you make me live now honey
Oooh you make me live

You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
You're my best friend

Oooh you make me live

I'm happy at home
You're my best friend
Oh you're my best friend
Oooh you make me live
You you're my best friend

I believe that every religion is sacred, it is holy and it is a pathway to god. I believe that god is in every religion and that every religion is in god. I believe that all religions should be respected and cherished because they have all been established in accordance with the almighty.

I don't understand why Muslims and Christians always market their religion like it is a business product. I don't see Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Sikhs, Pagans and everyone else shoving their religion down everyone else's throat, like Muslims and Christians do.

Do they not realise that far from getting others to respect and take an interest in their religion, they are actually making it look cheap???
