Man some if some people know you think weed is a good thing they go all holier than thou...whats up with that??

They are totally uninformed about the benefits that Marijuana has. Some of these answers crack me up. I smoke weed and I have NEVER had someone step over me to get into thier business, NOR have I ever pursesnatched.

because they never tried it. It's that simple.
If they did, they wouldn't be against it because they would realize that alcohol and cigarettes (two drugs that ARE legal) are much worse. When do you hear about the high driver crashing and killing people?? Or the person that was affected by marijuana second hand smoke?? Not that marijuana is perfect, but it is no where near the danger of alcohol and cigarettes.
I have a friend who is so against marijuana and her boyfriend using it (you guessed it, she has never tried it!), but she is ok with him drinking (because she likes to drink). I know how her boyfriend is though, he lies to her and still gets high. I know he drives high all the time and one day he crashed and wrecked his car because he was drunk, not because he was high. And she was ok with him drinking and driving eh?!

There is just so much more money to be made from alcohol than soft drugs. Most of that money goes to the government, in the form of taxation. It's a long story...............

Nowadays, most of it is rooted in the concept of "if its illegal, it must be bad". Originally, religion was used to scare people into outlawing it, and then its legalization threatened the booming alcohol and tobacco industries.

Well. the two legal drugs, booze and cigs are the two biggest killers. More than all other drugs put together.
Might have something to do with it.

Some are tired of having to walk over people sleeping in their doorways in order to open their business, others don't like having their purses snatched, others don't like panhandlers, etc. etc. etc.
