Same reason we Christians shouldn't "generalize" about Atheists, agnostics, Pagans, etc.,.
Not every individual is as egotistical as the others, not every individual is out to hurt others, not every individual uses profane words, not every individual actually does research for themselves, not every individual is the same in real life as they are on-line, not every individual is a "Leader", not every individual is a "follower", not every individual was born in the belief they have, not every individual has a high IQ, not every individual comes here to bait others, not every individual is ....
Do you understand? There are levels of Christianity the same as there are levels of Athiests, Agnostics, etc.,.

Because the questions you ask probably apply to few of us. Assuming we are all modern Republicans. Assuming we all want to outlaw homosexuality. Assuming we want to bomb abortion clinics. Assuming we all want prayer in school or for evolution to be banned, or Creationism taught. Assuming we don't read non-Christian books or study other religions.
