What if someone shows you some truths that your organization denies. Would you admit to the truth or just hold to your religion's/ organization's doctrine. Are you more accountable to God or to your religion, or do you see them both as exactly the same thing?

I have a friend who is wanting to know more about Islam and she asked me about the Islamic standpoint on gay men. I told her that homosexuality is against Islam so she asked about gay men who have no choice in their sexuality, i.e. - Men who are gay aren't gay by choice but they can't help but be attracted to other men.

I didn't know how to respond back to her so I wanted to know what the Islamic viewpoint is regarding men who claim not to have a choice and can't help but be gay...

I'm a young teen male whose had an increase interest in Religion lately because of some elders.

In the back of my head, something tells me to become a priest. Yet my heart isn't so sure. It's not at peace with the idea.

Specifically: Amendment XIV

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. I have seen many FUNDIES claim that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to marry. Yet, the US Constitution clearly states that they can, and inherit, and provide health insurance/ care for their children.

1)How do you reconcile your faith with this amendment?

2)AND How does it reflect on you when homosexuals fight and die for your right to believe the way you want to believe if you wish to take their rights away?

According to Seth's answer, the holy spirit and shekinah means female. Does anyone have any more information on this? Is the Holy Spirit more feminine than masculine?

What would it be like? If there is no room for atheists or agnostics, and since any adherent to another religion would be shouted down as a blasphemer, what would this section be like if it were all-Christian?

I personally think its human nature to argue and fight. I think the different sects would argue with each other (especially to gang up on the Catholics) and try to convince each other that they love Jesus more than anyone.

What do you think?

The consul of Iceland in Venezuela told me that Iceland does not has aborigens, but I really think that it can't be posibblly.. I mean... every country most have aborigens.. don't they?

If you know the name of an Icelandic aborigen (or ancient or indegeous) population -if they are really there- please write it down in your answer.

There is a massive debate between Democrats and Republicans as to whether or not Global Warming is a real phenomenon. Most of the debate is between people who have no clue what the hell they are talking about. About 95% of climatologists think that humans are responsible for the warming of the Earth. Now, if I go to the doctor, and they say that I am sick and that I need to shot of something, I'm going to trust that my doctors know what the hell they are talking about. I am not a doctor and I am not qualified to decide if that shot is really necessary. The same logic applies to global warming. I am not a climatologist, so my options are, 1) Act like a pompous asshole who thinks he knows more than the experts who spent years in college learning about this stuff, or 2) I trust that the 95% of climatologists know what the hell they are talking about.

Atheists KNOW that this is all there is, right? And that when the curtain falls, it´s game over.
On the other hand, christians actually pretend to LOOK FORWARD to going beyond.
I´ve had this mail conversation with a christian whose name I can´t reveal for ethical reasons.
What he wrote me was simply horrifying. We were exchanging views about the dominican Inquisitor Torquemada who executed thousands of heretics, and he replied that the Inquisitor´s views were justified if the goal was to save an ignorant soul from sin and damnation.
Having read a description of how a soul was "saved" under Torquemada´s auspices, I asked him if "the ends justify the means" and his answers added up to: if it´s for the salvation of a soul, everything is justified.
(If I misquoted you, author of this opinion, you´re welcome to correct me by mail).
So my Q is: Do we atheists have to follow christian rules, unto death and torment to satisfy their faith, even though we don´t believe in it? Do we have rights?

If evolution were true, we should find a few simple lifeforms in the lowest level of the geologic strata, with a consistent upward progression of lifeforms of a more advanced nature in the next highest strata, etc. But we don't find that at all. Why?

I thought that was an oxymoron, but I've seen a few people using it. I can't blame them, Jews are by far the most persecuted religion in recent history. But can one be Jewish, and not believe in god?
