I'm a young teen male whose had an increase interest in Religion lately because of some elders.

In the back of my head, something tells me to become a priest. Yet my heart isn't so sure. It's not at peace with the idea.

Experienced people only.

Thank you

Maybe.

Talk to your priest. He might direct you to your diocese's Office for Vocations. They can answer your questions and help you discover God’s will for your life (discernment).

You might also want to check out the Vocations website for your diocese.

What most priests answer when asked this question is simply, "you just know". God will create a direct view before you that cannot be avoided even if you tried. I've heard many priests say that they knew God was calling them to the priesthood far before they were even interested in it. They would then avoid His beckoning and they would always end up where they started. The priesthood is a wondrous thing. Being able to consecrate the elements for the Most Holy Eucharist is something to be envied. I myself felt called to the priesthood but the Lord instead corrected me and introduced me to my future wife.

Take advice of your heart. Call for priesthood does not necessarily mean you adopt Priesthood as your profession. You definitely can a lead a life similar to a priest.

You have to make sure that the priesthood is really what God wants you to do. My husband thought he had a calling to be a lay missionary until he attended a search in. That's what I recommend you do.

I agree with the 1st response. Talk to your Priest. I'm sure he can give you more information on the inside life of Priesthood. From there, your heart and mind will unite to make the choice that is right for you.

I am not catholic, nor am I a male, but I feel the need to ask you do you know the story about Jonah and the great fish? Jonah was a phrophet that tried to run from God, when God told him to go to Nineveh. Jonah 1: 1- 4: 11. Maybe, you have something in common. May God Bless.

Read the Word!!! Anyone who has received Jesus IS a priest already!! Catholicism is a cult because they put their MAN MADE traditions above the Word of God. Only God can save you from this cult. May he give you wisdom and may you hear him call you OUT of the Catholic cult.

EDIT: don't go on a retreat. Go on an advance! Again, study the Word of God.

The call of God is very hard to answer and at the same time hard to resist. If you are that young this is no time for a committment. Guide your studies in that direction and wait. God will lead.

I'm in the same postition as you. A teen male who doesn't know what God is calling him to be: Priest or Layman

I don't know what my calling is now, but until it is revealed to me I must wait with patience and trust in God. I know He'll tell me when I am most ready for it. God will have his way and if he's calling you to be a priest He WILL make you a priest.

Just keep praying that God will reveal your vocation in time.

God bless and I'm praying for you.

Honestly, this is NOT the place to get straight answers to this personal of a question of yours.
It may sound strange, but if you're interested in really getting some solid advice, try talking to people like your teachers, coaches, maybe look for other young adults who know you well enough to give you truthful and helpful advice.
