I'm Catholic -my entire family is actually. Only problem is I really don't understand everything about being a Catholic. What sets this religion from other Christian religions? What is a Catholic? I know I should know this but I just don't. I used to go to mass when I was younger but even then I really didn't pay attention too much because I get bored and daze off. I just want to find out what religion is right for me. I haven't read the Bible yet but I will -one day. What steps do I take to know what religion I want to be involved with?

My friend's band teacher who was a good friend to her was recently arrested for teacer/student sexual activities. My friend is absolutely crushed at this news, and she feels very betrayed and sad. Are their any Bible verses that I could give to my friend to help her in this time of need?

Would she have had female apostles, and would one of them betray her? Could a female savior have accomplished what Jesus did? Wonder how things would have turned out. Come the time of being crucified, or, would she have died another way? Back in those days, men didn't talk to each other in public or even hold hands in public or any touching in public. With that in mind, how could she have related to men, let alone other women.

I have asked this question before and I have heard some answers.

"Because it still hurts"
Why does it still hurt? (that is the question)

"Because we don't get to see them on earth anymore"
So? Do i feel sad or cry because I dont get to 'see someone' while in Canada again?

Huh? According to your beliefs they aren't gone they have just moved. I don't see how missing them because you won't see them for a while makes crying as if they are gone-gone make sense.

To me, religion is just a business enterprise. Someone comes up with a religious plan, then they captialize on it by advertising and getting as many people as they can to join their religion.

They use the bible as the authoritive document to justify their religion, then they might sway from it to complete their special religion. So why can't people just praise religion by themselves? They could just sit at home, and pray to whoever, and keep it to themselves. There should be no need to spread their religion to anyone.

I understand helping people, but religion is just a belief, and should be kept to itself. Religions who try and get people to join on it's bandwagon remind me of comission only sales jobs who try and hire as many people as it can.

Because that's what the whole Christians wearing crosses thing seems like to me. Leave Jesus alone. If he were really to come back it's going to make him really upset to see the thing that tortured him unto death immortalized in pewter around the necks of all his friends.

I was born jewish...raised Jewish...but when I became sick with cancer...Jesus came to me and healed me.... Can you at least sympathise with me that I believe in Him now ? He healed me...I saw him....Im still jewish...but I cant deny Jesus....
