Yes!!!!! I'm still in the poor house, it sucks!!! You ask how bad, I think everyone has different opinions on how bad there situation is. I'm sorry you are feeling overwhelmed about money, I learned it's just money you can't take it with you, and things are just that THINGS!!! If I had to choose over the bills being payed or my family's lives. All my possesions could burn today, I would be sad, but I love my family more. There are so many people w/ money struggles, it's not even funny!!! I hope you can find some kind of relief, and when you do try your best to stay out of the poor house!! The economy sucks right now, you are not alone.

When I decided I did not want to be married to my ex-husband. I packed a suitcase and left. the lady I was working for told me she was happy to see I decided to leave an abusive husband and gave me an unexpected bonus of a couple thousand dollars. I did not have any debts, but moved to a new town with very little resources. Found a job, got a nice little apartment and built up my career. I hated being without a job, but by the grace of God, it was only for a short while. After 11 years of being stable, the place I worked for merged with another place. All of us from the taken over company were let go, which was a relief because the place was very cut-throat and hostile after the take over. I prayed there would be something better and although I had a nice little nest egg saved, I hated not having cash flow. I decided if I did not get a job I liked, I was going to sell everything, go to Europe for a few months, come back and start again. Before I could finish the application for the passport, I got another job, which I have now been in for 6 years. This job paid slightly less than the one I had. But much came out of it; 6 years later I have a second graduate degree, completely financed by my employer, since I started, my salary increased by about 55% over this brief time, and I love my job and work environment. So I have learned that at times you can expect that you will crash, but you get up, dust yourself off and keep going. Were these indecisive times bad? Yes, they were horrible, but with much prayer and effort, things always got better. Most of all, it was wonderful to have people offering encouragement and support.

What do you mean and why do you ask?
Depends on how you weigh poor or poor house. For some not being able to buy designer clothes is being poor but for some not having a proper meal is poor. For others not having a home is being poor.

Count your blessings each day no matter what you have or dont have :)

I don't know exactly what you mean by the poor house, but four years ago I got really sick and lost everything I had, clothes, house, car, everything. I guess I was in the poor house then. Now, five years later, I am back on my feet and moving along quite nicely.

Poor House, yes. But we can only make the best of what we have. No, it's not always easy.Try to make the best out of a bad situation. Someone always has it worse. Pray that it will only get better. Put your best foot forward and keep going.

Are you talking about have I ever been broke? Of course I went to college and now have 3 kids.
If you are talking about going to debtors jail. I don't think they do that any more. It was done up until the 1900's. Then they ran out of room (lol). Actually I don't know why they stopped maybe they figured it was a sure way to never get your money. I've read it was pretty gruesome though. Mothers would be in there with their small children!
