I just spent a week or so in email conversation with a gentlemen who though that Christianity was a copy cat religion. I will point out the Major flaw in the idea in short for you. There is something called coloring the evidence, it is a logical fallacy that happens when you try and do this. What people who put forth this argument do is take an example and place Christian terms upon it. A big one is rose from the dead. That phrase congers up the idea of Jesus Christ in our minds right. well then they will say Osiris rose from the dead. So now we think OK Osiris like Jesus rose from the dead this might mean they took the idea from Egyptian mythology.
But if we look at the example deeper than the surface we see that there is nothing similar at all. Osiris was cut up into 14 pieces and spread around then other gods took his body and sewed him back together, then he became the lord of the underworld. This is not someone who rose from the dead he was brought back to life.
OK this is coloring the evidence, you see people take a Christian idea and place it upon a myth and then claim Christians ripped the idea off. But when we look at it in the light of the real story we see it is not the same at all. They have colored the evidence, it is easy to fall for. The truth is not a single reputable scholar or historian will say that this is the case. the only people who do are people looking to make money by selling books or they have a hatred towards Christians.
Ask would Jesus or any one in Jerusalem at the time have know of any of these myths, maybe a few yes but very unlikely.
It seems to be a strong argument on the surface but under proper scrutiny it falls apart only making Jesus more unique in his Character.
This is only a small example of why the idea is wrong if you would like to get into it deeper feel free to email me on it. I have spent a long time in study of this and can give you a good response to the argument if you would like to hear it. But only if you wish to have an open minded conversation please.
Have a great night.

Of course we do!In Greece we do not treat mythology as a religion but as a part of our history and our culture! The same we do and for others mythology!!!Religion has nothing to do with history! If you exclude myths from history then you cannot really understand the way they lived and used to think...

zero? haha. More like all of it. There is nothing that sets apart Judeo-Christian theology from all the other religions that speak of messiahs that ever existed.

You forgot Mesopotamia. I realize that the others you mentioned heavily influenced Mesopotamia.
So, your answer. Early Christianity was almost completely influenced by the others. Later Christianity was influenced mostly by ignorance and sanctimony.

In reference to "theo-mythology," that is, a religious mythology which deliberately interweaves myth, theology, and history to achieve a story-form religious rooting, the religion that most incorporates this is Hinduism. this "theo-mythology" is so deeply rooted in india's history and culture that to reject the vedas is viewed as opposing india. therefore a belief system is rejected by hinduism if it does not embrace indian culture to some extent. Christianity is not rooted fom theo-mythology.
