I think you're right, & your Catholic example is just the ticket to explain why. Just how Fundies here refuse to recognise that Catholics are Xian also?
Given the fact that there are so many Sects, I'd think Zealots'll find someone to attack.

What is wrong with Catholics. Maybe I have been missing some of the questions. I am sorry if some have come across this way as we are not all like this. Jesus does love everyone and has a plan for each and every person here. What is important is not the church you attend but your relationship with Jesus. God is love and we are suppose to want our hearts filled with His love and then be able to extend it out to others. "They will know we are Christians by our love for one another"

Well, it's not like the Christians are entirely in agreement about alot of things, so it would probably degenerate into factions and cliques. I don't think the total absence of atheists or agnostics or pagans could be considered an improvement. Some of the atheists and pagans contribute some pretty decent topics for discussion. Most are here just to prove how willfully ignorant they are, and their questions and answers certainly attest to that.

Well, we certainly don't want to live in a world where everyone is exactly the same, how could we learn from each others experiences then. We need everybody on here, I like listening to all the viewpoints, I'm entertained by the arguments, sarcasm and joke-sters, and I'm touched by the emotions. I do hate when people dis' others when the person is clearly in distress about something.

I think that religions were created by the same people, with "divide and conquer" in mind.
If it were only christians on here is would be "Yahoo! Christian Answers", and there would be others for other beliefs so Yahoo could avoid being called racist. There would be flamers of differing opinions, obviously.
Christians are as adept at fighting between themselves as they are fighting with others. I mean look at the Catholic & Protestant history in Northern Ireland for the last century!

If there were nothing but Christians then who would we witness to?
Psalm 22:27
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 13:10
And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
Peace be with you

Exactly. It's 2007 humans still have no control over their passions, even if from the same religion, community, family. There would still be fights and reporting.

"I personally think its human nature to argue and fight."
You are correct.
This is why it's important to die to the old nature.
This is why we must be born of the spirit, a new nature, the nature of Love, God is love.
The number of Christians that hate me for saying this lets me know that few find this new nature. They think God is about authority and rules. It's sad, there's sooo much more.

I agree!
Really I don't see how Y!A could do any service for that topic anyhow...people would only be asking stuff they could look up themselves, since the basis of the whole deal is in a book they all own. Plus, people would only pick the answers that are what they want to hear.

I'll have to disagree with you!! I've been in all-Christian chat rooms, and yes there can be some nastiness at times.
But typically, those chatrooms are monitored and anyone who gets out of line or disrespectful is booted immediately.
They do welcome non-Christians, but the questions are based upon Christianity and Christian values in those rooms. Sometimes we study other religions, but our focus ranges from just general chat ("Hi, how are you doing today" "How are your kids doing?) to prayer needs, and some theological debate. You'd be surprised to find out that most Christians share a lot of the same concerns as non-Christians, the difference is that with a Christian chat room, we have a common source in terms of who we believe in and who we serve.
Also, we typically have separate chatrooms for different topics. One is for general chat. One is for prayer requests, one is for debating, one is for theological debates, one is for end times, etc. One is for praising.
So, would I love a Q&A website for Christians? Absolutely if it was monitored to ensure that anyone becoming disrespectful to others was admonished and then finally booted. Non-Christians, definitely are welcome in those rooms as long as they understand that Christianity will be shared in a positive light and no bashing allowed.
