Well, it would be much more closer knit. Some for the better, some not.

Really, there would still be plenty of diversity and problems between different sects. For example, the wahabbis that reside mostly in Saudi Arabia believe that anyone who believes different from them (aka: most of the muslim population and the rest of us) should be killed so they can form a perfect world.

It really is a very peaceful religion though, and there are many benefits to the lifestyle many of them lead. It ranges in "strictness" (for lack of a better word) from place to place. It depends more upon the govt. than the religion itself. Women would NOT have to cover up and become subjugated. That only happens in more extreme countries. Also, in Iran, the burkas and such that the women wear, are wore as national pride. During the war with their govt, women would wear these garments as a symbol when they stood against their govt. So not all women that wear these are forced to.

And for all of you out there who believe terrorism and violence is what these people are like: you're WRONG. Those are extremists. My teachers visiting from Egypt were some of the most friendly and open people I've met. Talking with someone who lives over there really helps separate the misconceptions and lies from the truth.

For example: my teachers don't hate the Israelis. She said the majority of the people (on both sides) just want the fighting to stop. She does, however, have a strong dislike for the Saudi govt and its treatment of women.

Islam doesn't tell men to enslave and completely control their women. Muhammad did no such thing. And for all the people out there who will ***** about how he had more than one wife: it was what they did back then. If a warrior died, a relative would marry his wife and take her and the children into his own house. It was the best way to see she was protected and cared for. My teacher said, in most of the arab world: that polygamy is very rare and frowned upon.

I'm not sure what it'd be like; but I will say this (is an american woman) I do think western society could DEFINATELY benefit from some of the muslim practices.

Is that supposed to be a pointed question? No diversity is bad regardless of the race, gender or religion left on the planet, if it's the ONLY one left, it's boring. End of story. Although i think a world full of Christians would be scarier.

You would think that everything would be okay since there wouldn't be any non-muslims for those extremists to blow up, but there are conflicts between muslim sects so the whole world would be like how Iraq is now. Not a nice place.

I would imagine it would depend on the particular branch of Islam, but in general:

1. A lack of equal treatment of women

2. Increased mix of religion and government, including laws that discriminate based on belief system and political affiliation

3. Less freedom in the press and of personal behavior (see Muslim countries today -- Israel is one of the only democratic nations with a free press in the Middle East, and it is not majority Muslim)

4. Loss of scientific advancement (save for engineering, some medicine, and a few areas that do not contradict the Koran- forget cosmology)

5. Reduction of Jewish population

Those are just my guesses, based on the fundamentalist tides growing in Islam today. If the world were more like Turkey it would be a paradise because it separates mosque from state, but if the world were more like Saudi Arabia then it would be a nightmare (they follow Shariah law).

The whole world will never be all of any one thing unless we have a horrible suppressive government running everything.

Diversity is best so people have choices in life and can be happy.

Terrible, there would be bombings, warfare, religious oppression, institutionalized sexism, tyranny, intolerance and all the women would be wearing robes and masks. That sounds like hell to me.

No religion is monolithic, so it would depend on the way that Islam was implemented, and whether or not it would include Sharia law or whether it, like Turkey, would allow secular government instead of a theocracy, like Iran.
