The Big Bang Theory is the dominant scientific theory about the origin of the universe. According to the big bang, the universe was created sometime between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that hurled matter and in all directions.

Seriously, as time goes on it becomes more and more obvious. People just can't accept it, however, because that would destroy their purpose in life. They will be scared that we are alone in the universe and no one is watching over them.

But it's time to get real. There is no god.

The more I ask, the more I get answers that are so alien to me that I could be talking to some hiveminded creature from the Perseus arm of the galaxy.
From what I see, believers huddle together around a leader and apply a common current of thought that has been handed to them.
And atheists are individualistic, mistrusting second hand experience. They might stumble more often on both old and new stones, but they get to see things with a fresh perspective.
And the map is so different than the territory, why would we settle for the map only? Moreover IS THE MAP CORRECT?
There is no doubt in my mind as to where progress comes from, because the road less travelled is where novelty can be found, once perspective from past visionaries is available.
Denying a lack of imagination is for believers something akin to an alcoholic that refuses to admit his/her addiction.
There is so much potential in humanity, flocking seems to be so wasteful, so self-limitating.
It´s really depressing...

For me, it is not about us, but about Him. And oneness. I'm not sure I can even explain what I think "free will" is, so I would like to hear what you believe it is, and what it makes you feel like.

Im a Christian and im seriously tired of people telling others that they are going to hell. How do you know? Do you know the future of this persons life? How do you know that they will never turn to God? The bible says that the first will be last and the last will be first. An Atheist could one day turn around and come to christ but you already condemn them to hell. Is that the godly way of speaking to others? God forbid.

Christians also keep judging other Chrisitans, its ok to correct and rebuke but im talking about when some Christians are quick to make assumptions about others. Its irritating. If i say something about Homosexuallity, then to some, im automatically judging, Come' on, lighten up.

Unfortunately some people are born crazy, they truely have no "moral compass" or understanding of right or wrong.

Let's assume this person has commited murder (or whatever other sins you would like) and has been hospitalized. If the person because of their illness can not comprehend the concept of repenting or even who or what jesus is, would they still be held accountable for their sins and sent to hell?

Would god not have created the sickness in the person to begin with?

Every weeknight you have to watch a half-hour game show.

You can either watch two dogs fight to death, or watch two mentally retarded kids fight until one or the other is knocked unconscious.

Which would you watch if your life depended on it? And why?

Would you not watch and die? And why?

Would you watch reruns for bonus years? And why?

From Q and A I got to read on YA, I realize that many people are unaware of all the suffering, efforts and sacrifices that went into building nations that more or less respect the integrity of their citizens. Women have fought and died to earn the right to be assertive. African americans have fought discrimination. Gay people have managed to get their ways of life, if not respected, at least tolerated.
All around the world, discrimination has been and is still fought bitterly, at the price of human lives.
And here, I see hate, I see bigotry, and I see the capitulation of basic rights that have actually cost human lives. Some of them have to do with religion.
As an atheist, what I fight is not other people: what I fight is the relic of a reverence that has lost its perspective, that has become arbitrary a long time ago, and that under the charisma of forceful leaders can become a new ocean of hate.
Would you please think for yourself?
I don´t ask you to follow me, just to be skeptical.
