She's never around anymore, and underneath this Earth. Is there still a way I can go out with her?

Religion is meant to make us unite with our fellow man but a lot of the time it sets us apart. The different customs of the different religions makes people outside a specific religion stand out like a sore thumb. As has been said 'man made God in his own image.'

After a few days living with the devil, curiosity got the better of her and we started the religion discussion. I'm not an evil converting atheist or anything but I'll talk for hours if people get me started. When I asked her if she knew just what atheism meant she told me confidently that atheism meant "destitute and without God." She is utterly convinced that this is the actual definition of the word even from a linguistic point of view despite also understanding that it's just theism with an A jammed in front.

I'm quite convinced that I'm not destitute, thank you very much.

This morning I went into the A&F store and the super cute store guy walked right up to me and said "top or bottom"? I replied that I was looking for a belt.

OMG...am I becoming a straight guy?

i saw someone ask; can a christian be evil? and a lot of people posted no, as long as they are true christians.

is a true christian one that believes in the bible literally?
thus homosexuals should be stoned...

or is a true christian one that cherry picks the bible because their sense of morality is above the teachings of god and jesus?

do you just need faith and follow the 10 commandments? so slavery, bigotry, and deception are all ok?

or does your answer reflect how you see yourself?

is there something i missed? im very confused.

I read other people answers, and I see "atheists are dumb". Well reading so much is not like throwing buckets of water from the Eiffel tower you know? Even for someone that doesn´t have much memory, there is a lot of info that gets stuck.

On the contrary, how is it that the study of only one book and its interpretations (biblebiblebiblebible....) makes a better only source?
Please don´t say god wrote it, please don´t write verses.
I´m so tired of verses I could ask your devil if he wants to buy my soul... lol

I used to say to my Husband, "Let's see IF we've won the Lottery" He told me to be more positive and say let's see how Much we have won on the Lottery, and, do you know?
It hasn't made the slightest difference!
Hey Ho, I'll keep trying though. I have to because I made the mistake long ago to do the same line of numbers.

Was Cain's wife one of Adam and Eve's children? If so, why was she sent away from God with Cain?

Why does the bible only mention that Cain had daughters?

The truth is we have no idea. Doesn't that mean agnosticism is the true religion of all mankind?

I've been noticing lately that there are many questions that appeal to the idea that the person posting the answer has some expertise into historical matters that others in the population are ignorant of. Examples of this include the idea that the founding fathers of America were Atheist, and that Mother Theresa didn't feel the presence of God for 40 years of her life. Why do these so called facts only seem to appear after the person indicated by the 'fact' has died and are then unable to verify these claims? Do others have some idea on why this phenomenon occurs? Are people just so full of it that they must make up outlandish claims in a way that is deliberately unverifiable or is this just coincidence? Do you know of any other examples of this occurring? Please use clear examples that do not (intentionally) disrespect other people beliefs (such as Adam and Eve for example).

"Dead Elves" raised a very interesting Q:
At one time or another, we´ll be able to radically alter our own genome, and become more than what we are... or simply different.
We might want to adapt to underwater conditions, or even to space (not to the lack of oxygen, surely).
Some might want to shed their organic body and download their personalities into a neural net, analogous memory bank.
Immortality itself might be closer than we think.
I know I´d take the plunge. Would you?

But then, what would the sacred texts all over the world jury-rig to fit the new biotechnological realities?
Could they hold to their followers?
Would the "augmented" humans decide to leave the superstitious Earth behind?
Would they create their own superstitious falvor after awhile?

Believers could certainly say that all this won´t happen, that it´s impossible, but then again they said that to Galileo and Darwin, too... right?

I don't really know whether he existed or not. But I think everyone owes it to themselves to look outside the Bible breifly, and research the god Mithras, you may be suprised.

I read an article on celibacy recently. It was extolling the spiritual benefits of celibacy.

But is celibacy good for you? Aren't we naturally inclined towards sex? Is there anything wrong with a good healthy sex life?

I'd like to hear all of your opinions on this. Both the critics and supporters and even practioners. What health and spiritual benefits can be had from being (or not being) a celibate?

By the way, the definition of celibacy I am using here is the total lack of sex. Not just being unmarried as some religions seem to define it.

Hey, have you heard the news? Mother Theresa had spiritual doubts which she shared only with her spiritual advisers. She even pronounced the words "I have no faith." She was in doubt about religion for the last 50 years of her life.

Hmm, could it be that Atheists like Mother Theresa can engage in charitable works too, that you don't need religion or faith to be good?

I was sitting in my bedroom right in front of my PC's monitor, suddenly a funny feeling of peacefulness came. It was weird, but it felt rather good. And out of no where, it smelt quite good too! (Something like flowers, smelt better than anything I've ever smelt) Is there any explanations for this weird occurrences?
