It's a place with some of the most beautiful and diverse cultures and history in the world and we all struggle to get along, and some how we manage it.
Though technically the UK does tend to sits on the sideline half pretending we are not actually part of Europe.

At present, it means nothing at all for many people. Apart from the introduction of the Euro, I think that there are still many differences and mutual racisms we have to get over, before beginning to consider ourselves as part of a culture entity which really mirrors all the so-called "Europeans".
