a journey of learning..a long time ago,me and some buds were getting hit hard, almost daily and most of us were starting to freak out...an old sergeant said to us"you stand where God puts you"...to me that meant Im here for a reason and if i die now,it will be how I conducted myself up to that point..if not, then what did I learn before I moved on to something else..It made things better for me...it still applies sometimes...

Prior to mortal birth we lived as spirit children of our Heavenly Father. To help us reach our potential, He prepared this earth with conditions such that we could develop a better understanding of the principles of happiness. Essentially He sent us away to school.

To illustrate, consider that I tell my children to be kind and to serve one another. I hope they'll appreciate these principles of happiness, but they will probably gain further insight as they see what happens when contention occurs in the world.

Our Heavenly Father made it possible for us to experience competing truths and people making both good and bad decisions to help us develop our own understanding of truth instead of just depending on what some powerful being said.

There are some videos at the following site that may help you understand what I'm trying to describe.
