Im a Christian and im seriously tired of people telling others that they are going to hell. How do you know? Do you know the future of this persons life? How do you know that they will never turn to God? The bible says that the first will be last and the last will be first. An Atheist could one day turn around and come to christ but you already condemn them to hell. Is that the godly way of speaking to others? God forbid.

Christians also keep judging other Chrisitans, its ok to correct and rebuke but im talking about when some Christians are quick to make assumptions about others. Its irritating. If i say something about Homosexuallity, then to some, im automatically judging, Come' on, lighten up.

Someone else once said the same thing you are saying.

Matthew 7:1
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

Luke 6:37
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

John 12:47
"As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.

Our purpose is to spread the Gospel of Salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus, as he states his purpose was in the above quote from John.

I agree about being more cautious about saying people are going to hell. These opinions are based on a current assessment of statements and indeed may not happen in the future. However, I think it's a different matter about accepting others as Christians. Scripture says that you do need to make judgments when other Christians speak/preach/teach about God, so that you are not misled [Matt.7:6; Luke7:43;12:57; John 7:24; 1 Corinthians 5:12; 6:1,2;1 Corinthians.2:15; 5:12,13; 6:1-5; 10:15; Galatians 1:9; Philippians.3:2,3; Titus 3:10; 1 John 4:1; 2 John 10,11].

We must make judgements. The context of the verse that says judge not, lest you be judged. Says you will be judged in the same measure. This is saying that if you are doing the same thing as the other person, then you have no right to judge. Paul also says that we are to judge those inside the church. Pointing out what God considers a sin is not judging. Judging is when you impose something on someone for that sin. Like in 1 Cor chapter 5 when Paul tells the church to expel the man that is committing adultery. That is judgement.

I am a pagan Witch and I have just been on the receiving end of some nasty bashing by some Christians who answered a question I posted that was addressed to fellow Witches.

I am sorry to say that I am not surprised.

But I am so so pleasantly surprised to read your wonderful post!!!!! Blessings be heaped on your head for you fantastically inclusive, open minded and loving words and spirit. I truly believe that if more Christians were like you, the religion would attract more followers. If the message was truly love one another and not send everyone else to hell, how much the richer would be the sharing of our facinating differences which all lead to the One?

I thank you with all my heart, and in the name of all the Gods and Goddesses, I pray for peace.

Blessings,
Lady Morgana

I totally agree, I'm a christian myself and I personally think telling people there going to hell is the stupidest thing you can do. All christians should do is set an example, and have a lifestyle that fits what God set. I also agree with how christians judge christian just as much, especially when it comes to how spiritual or unspiritual a person is. These things should be left with God and the person, we shouldn't be involved with their desicions, all we can do is support them and tell them about God. Also we have to set an example.

Some are truly caught up in judging others that they forget the true meaning of God's Word. And of course He said, "thou shalt not judge lest thee be judged." They often forget God's Word and try to scare people into christianity and push religion. These are not true christians, True christians will not try to scare you but enlighten. Everyone has a choice if they want to live their lives sinfully or without sin and who are we christians to say that you should follow God or you will surely go to hell? No everybody has to find that something for themselves. You can't help somebody unless they wish to be helped. And those that judge, God will surely judge them when that day comes.

You got that right. Seems many of us have forgot we were headed for hell in a handbag. Now we (As a group, not myself) judge those we once were. When did we come to know Christ Jesus in our own lives? Does that mean everyone else has to believe when we do? I sympathize with a sinner, because I once was, "AND" I still have my downfalls!!! Seems to me, when a Christian wants to judge someone, we must first look in the mirror and judge ourselves.

I agree with you, totally. There is hope for anyone, no matter where they are at in their life, and condemnation pushes them further away. Im not sure if youre referencing this about christians due to your experience on here or not, but besides the fake christian trolls, I dont see a whole lot of youre gonna burn in hell posts or answers. Maybe its just the time I'm on.

See travellers answer... he took the words out of my mouth...

You just totally eliminate yourself in this whole "judging" thing but then you do it to gay people because you think that you can know whether or not they are Christian...

The judgement doesn't even stop with the people who see a NEED for it to stop...
"Judge not lest ye be judged" is in the Bible and yet you continue to sin? It's a little hypocritical to cast your stone continuously at gays then...
