My father was a freemason but he never talked about a secret.

my partner came to the corner shop with me and broke wind.

I looked at him and asked him if he did it, he just looked at me and said 'probably'

I had to wait to get served before I came out the shop with his and asked him again, he again looked at me and said that he can't remember, he then said he did. I asked him why he did not leave the shop.

Who else thinks this is disguisting?

He tends to break wind in public alot

Why do we have to go to heaven or hell? What if we dont wanna have an after life and we wanna just live on earth and then die and not go anywhere else? Cause I dont wanna die, and then go back to earth later (re-incarnation) and come back to this $#!T#0L3. So if I ask god if I can just not go anywhere and have my spirit die also then will he listen or will he make me choose to go to heaven or hell?

One of the thing most offensive about christians is the way the outright inform me that jesus was my saviour, if i ask about hamburgers, death, pink wallpaper or flowers, generally christians say "blah blah blah jesus mankinds saviour"

How or Why is he my saviour? From what i gather, the romans were in control of that period in history, and jesus was walking around going against the gods of the day and had 7-8 followers. No one had respect for jesus and so he was put on the cross eventually for doing this.

Then why is it that he is my saviour? Like, what did he do to deserve this spot in all of humanity?

I can see why there was x amount of people all following jesus and the romans thought, this is nonsical, kill him, then jesus may have been a saviour to the x amount of followers but how does this extend to me in the year 2000?

I mean, coz jesus got hanged for going against the grain of the time, how does that translate to everyone owing jesus for that?

Can we agree that Jesus comitted suicide?

"Well, you knew the consequences of your actions would put you in Hell therefor God is not sending you to Hell, you are sending yourself to Hell"

"Well, Jesus knew the consequences of his actions would get him killed, therefor the Jews did not kill Jesus, he killed himself"

The other day I was watching TV and I saw a duck selling insurance. This duck proves that evolution is false.

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri (before you ridicule her, say her name out loud) has shown that the chances that a population of ducks evolve into ducks capable of selling insurance is infinitesimal. This is because the ability to sell insurance confers no selective advantage on the ducks.

Therefore, since there is a duck with the ability to sell insurance, that duck must have been intelligently designed. Therefore, intelligent design is true. If intelligent design is true, then the Bible is literally true as well.

Take that, you mallard-lutionists!

And if those odds are small why would the odds of a functional god "just existing" for no external reason at all be any greater?

Please do not reply with logical fallacies.

Respectfully I ask, Why?

1. What is the point behind the tradtions and repetitive prayers, songs, chants?

2. If you believe that we were each created uniquely is it possible we were each also created to worship / praise / practice in unique and individual ways?

3. I'm not saying traditions and rituals are not useful or meaningful, but perhaps the constant controlled structure and rigidity can pose an issue when reaching others?

Does not have to be of great "real" value.

Mine are my father's first communion kit containing a bible, a rosary, and charms; My grandmother's rocking chair; and an old political flyer picturing my grandfather when he ran for the senate in the 60's.

I am seriously wanting to know...from a Muslim point of view.

I mean, I know that in Afghanistan, if you convert from Islam to another religion, it would be incredibly shameful and your own family would likely kill you, especially if you were female. This happens all the time...and women are literally burned to death.

And, I know that converting TO Islam is often completely forced...or perhaps, for marriage purposes, etc...

But I am curious about the women in the "open" countries who freely embrace Islam...? What on earth or in heaven could your motive possibly be? Do you have any idea what life is like for a Muslim woman...or what "heaven" is (supposedly) for a Muslim woman?

Right now, I could only think that it would stem from either ignorance or deception, or a combination of them both.

So, I ask this question with sincere interest...to learn something and gain some insight on these things...

Thanks in advance.

Some pro-choicers use the argument that if abortion was not legal, women would seek other ways to end the pregnancy that might be very dangerous. Is it true that women commonly did dangerous things like this before abortion was legal? Or is it an urban myth perpetuated by the pro-choice campaign? lf you have real sources, that would be awesome!

Jesus died FOR US and he suffered a lot. he saved us and did what I think extremely few of us would have done

Now god has killed several people during the flood, made his own son sacrifice himself, and forces people to believe in him or go to hell.

So is it wrong for me to have more respect or admiration for Jesus than for God?

I ask this in respons to some that are not sure how to send e-mails to other community members. All you have to do is look for the e-mail option in a users profile. If you don't get e-mail and want it, turn on you e-mail option in your profile.

I have some great repliers, that even when they disagree with my logic, I like to let them know, that I appreciate their input, regardless of their possition on the issue I raise.

A good debater will take into to account their opositions ideas and if they have no valid argument to refute them, then they have to agree with that point. Thats what makes this place so much fun... I learn from most everyone that replies to me (except those few cynical, and snide responders).

So go ahead open up you's guys, and let us tell you when your wrong your right too. You might get an unexpected thank you note from me.
