One of the thing most offensive about christians is the way the outright inform me that jesus was my saviour, if i ask about hamburgers, death, pink wallpaper or flowers, generally christians say "blah blah blah jesus mankinds saviour"

How or Why is he my saviour? From what i gather, the romans were in control of that period in history, and jesus was walking around going against the gods of the day and had 7-8 followers. No one had respect for jesus and so he was put on the cross eventually for doing this.

Then why is it that he is my saviour? Like, what did he do to deserve this spot in all of humanity?

I can see why there was x amount of people all following jesus and the romans thought, this is nonsical, kill him, then jesus may have been a saviour to the x amount of followers but how does this extend to me in the year 2000?

I mean, coz jesus got hanged for going against the grain of the time, how does that translate to everyone owing jesus for that?

"He is the only light of this world, and the truth and the way only through the grace of him can we be saved. "

This is exactly the answer i talk about. Do you even know what this means?

I dont have a clue, it does nothing to answer my question at all, its just a random statement from the bible that christians say all the time, it dries me insane trying to have a logical conversation just to get

"and when the stone turns and gathers no moss, the light of the saviour of the holy ghost in bethlehem by the hand of the angel gabriel enjoys several kilograms of fresh fruit"

Then just leave it there as though the question has been answered even know its completely irrelevent and means nothing.

Same with stem cell research "ahh the god of the mankind saviour jesus and his deciples wash they feet at the stove of noah" somehows answers the question as to why stem cell research is harmful.

There is a couple of more appropriate answers in this but the bulk of it is chaff....

Let me say again, if one is looking to the bible but sees wholes all over it, you cannot help a person by refering to the bible which was written by people 40 years after his death...

You also cant just say "god sent him here" because doing so completely negates the question. If you find it hard to believe jesus existed and the religion that spiraled out of it, how can you say to someone... blah blah blah, god says.... and the only reason god says that it because the bible said that and the only reason the bible says that is coz it was based on someones writing of a vision in 70AD of jesus.....

Its just a never evending circle of mythology and folklore.

If your going to answer, be human about it and give your own, not some statement at random out the bible, the very thing im not sure even has credibility.

Also i guess that every single one of us comes from god if that is your belief, none the less does that not make william wallace my saviour?

He was sent from god to die, or the heros of WW2, to say god sent his son to be killed for mankind is far too personal considering jesus was essentially a rebel of the day.

I mean, if i run around saying peter pan is coming, ill get sectioned and put in a hospital and i doubt very much that in 40 years ill go to someones head in a dream and say im Paul Pans(god) son.

no-one would waste time killing a 'rebel' with 8 followers!

Actually this is nonsical in itself, i mean, it was roman times, he wouldn thave needed a trial or anything, he would have just been killed outright. Speaking against the roman gods of the time was enough to be killed.

I know for a fact that jesus didnt have 300 followers as well

Ask a 15 year old and a 60 year old these questions:
Is saving for retirement a good idea?
Is it inherently wrong to steal even if noone is watching?
Is it better to give than to receive?
There is a big difference between the way the young view the world and the way experience molds us. Almost invariably we end up much more like our parents then we ever imagined possible. Remember they at one time were 15 and were just like us. We live life and learn that we do not know everything and in fact know nothing. I do not know anything about the nature of anyone else's spirituality and neither do you ....What i do know is....Almost everyone is an atheist when they are 15....amazingly enough though...almost noone is still an atheist on their death bed.

sirburd?

I shake your hand my friend. Out of 25 years of getting fed up of people raving on about stuff and not answering questions, you have done this perfectly without feeling the need to do a one sentence statement out a random part of the bible.

I am with collective in that its nonsense but your the first person to actually describe it well and for me (although it means nothing) you truely deserve your god and he deserves you.

Thanks for sharing.

Most people do not have anyu idea what the bible is about and quote sweet nothings.

Christians of all sorts should take a leaf out of sirburds book. He has his own personal reasons as opposed to scanning a statement into a box from the bible.

Cheers

A rather lengthy (and ll-informed) diatribe.
Jesus had over 300 followers. He was handed over to be kill;ed because He claimed to be God....no-one would waste time killing a 'rebel' with 8 followers!
By all means hold your views....but at least use SOME basis of fact.

He saved truthfully everyone interior the sense that billions of persons at the instant are not suffering in hell precise now. If God's judgment fell upon truthfully everyone precise now, then billions now alive might die and do to hell. simply by fact of Lord Jesus, grace is upon them. they have a huge gamble to attain eternal existence. yet God the Holy Spirit won't try with adult men forever. in the event that they don't want to take great element with regard to the possibility then they are able to bypass to hell. Jesus did not hate Jews. He became a Jew, His apostles have been Jews, His disciples have been Jews, and so on. Jesus did not have gentiles. He prayed for Gentiles, healed them, and blessed them.

Because God said so that is why. The plan of God from the very beginning was to redeem mankind from sin. God knew that mankind would sin and that mankind would need a Savior from that sin. The wages of sin is death. God's law. Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and started this fallen state of man.

The only way back to eternal life is accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. Christ is the atonement for our sins and there is no other way to God and eternal life with God.

You were created for God's pleasure. Revelation 4:11 Life is not about you; life is about God. It is God who holds everything together. It is God who is life.

Your perception is tottaly off you need to read the book of John to really understand why. Jesus knew that he would be crusified before it happend that was one of his purposes. He died so that you would have ever lasting life you would have to read the bible to really understand what that means I dont really understand what you mean about "owing" Jesus because all he asked is that we believed he died for our sins and that we accept him into our lives to be our lord and savior so that we can have life and have it more abundantly I dont know about you but i Need God to help me and if he thought enough about me to send his only son to die for me then theres no question that Jesus is my saviour and to set the record straight JESUS died for everyones sins no matter who you are and where you come from

.Jesus is a human incarnation of the divine being known as god. This entity consists of the father, his son, and a holy spirit which is eternal. When humanity reached the point where they asked questions ,the divine always met them halfway. Why?That is the best god could do for developing humanity. We ourselves are divine like and are considered something interesting and valuable also rare because of our awareness of self and the universe.God is just trying to assemble all the sentient beings in his house for comfort and friendship.God loves us like we love the people we love.God loved the Israelites, because of Abrahams fear of him ,which, if you were aware of gods power you would be terrified. He promised the Israelites a bright future , part of which contained the son of God arriving at a pre-destinated time to explain the way to eternal life, which through him is bestowed on whoever asks for it,it is the temporary human, but really ETERNAL being, Jesus/SON OF GOD a very ancient and all powerful being who has that power. So Jesus told the people the truth of god and eternal life, and for his efforts was executed for breaking jewish law by making himself god even though he was.Of course, being divine he could not be kept in the state of death. He arose, met with people he knew, then went physically to heaven-now here is the good part for you - he can take you to heaven and give you eternal life [if your worthy]

The answer you seek is written in The Holy Bible. It took me many years to accept that God existed and that He really did love me. I started by reading the first four Gospels of The New Testament in the Bible-with an open mind. That answered many of my questions. And one day whilst I was reading it, God gave me the free gift of belief. He also relieved me of my Alcoholism. May He give this priceless gift to you too.

Because of Who He is, and What He did.

If Jesus is NOT God incarnate, He would not have had the authority to pay for the sins of ALL men.

And if He had not paid the actual price for sin [death], it wouldn't have meant anything.

The rest is just publicity.

God sent Jesus to die for our sins. He hung on a cross for a reason. He is the ultimae perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. Back in OT times, when people sinned, they had to sacrifice a perfect animal in order to be forgiven. They had to do this every time they sinned.

God had the idea to send His only son to Earth to be the ultimate sacrifice so that people would no longer have to keep making this sacrifice.

I am just answering your question, so please do not accuse me of being offensive.

Jesus was NOT hanged for going against the grain of the time. His death was part of a plan....God's plan.
THAT is what He did to "deserve this spot in all of humanity."

Ask about pink flowers or hamburger and I will answer appropriately. YOU asked about Jesus being a savior.
