These men can't control themselves, so why not just get married?
Catholic rules say marriage isn't allowed. Sure they say to all entering the seminary they need to be sure that they can do it. But feelings change. After years of studying a profession, it can be a very difficult decision to leave...maybe it's just easier to lie.

1 Corinthians 7, says,"1:... It is good for a man not to marry.[a] 2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife.... 6: I say this as a concession, not as a command. 7I wish that all men were as I am [unmarried]....28But if you do marry, you have not sinned;"

Catholic church says, "33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world... 34and his interests are divided"

BUT 1 Tim 4: "3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth."

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS ASKED OF MAN WHAT GOD HAS NOT

People are quick to say that big women are sloppy with big bellys and have low self esteem and that they don't care about themselves. It's offensive because it's not true for every big person. Im plus size and Im healthy I don't walk around with a big hanging belly my waistline is the slimmest part of my body., I wear nice clothes, and I pull plenty of men. WHEN WILL PEOPLE STOP SAYING THAT ALL BIG PEOPLE ARE FAT, NASTY, AND UNATTRACTIVE????????????

Some people believe the big bang, that from the reactions of objects in space created the earth and stuff, but yet don't believe that there was a god that had something to do with it. If you believe in the big bang, what created that stuff, which created that stuff, to have a reaction to create the earth and stuff. Why don't people notice how magical/unbelievable for a big solid thing (watermelon) to grow from a little tiny black seed, or how another creature is made, from inside a human, thats nothing but guts and meat in the inside!

According to Pope Benedict's reassertion of the Catholic Primacy earlier this month, there is really no such thing as a non-Catholic Christian.

So, that means if you are:

Orthodox
Aryan
Anglican
Protestant
Calvinist
Quaker
Presbyterian
Unitarian
Mormon
Jehovah's Witness
New Life
Seventh Day Adventist
Episcopalian
Methodist

...or any other of a large number of churches, then you're not really a Christian at all.

So, how do you feel about this?

"To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree."

................ yet always fail to quote what came next..............

"Yet reason tells me, that if numerous gradations from a perfect and complex eye to one very imperfect and simple, each grade being useful to its possessor, can be shown to exist; if further, the eye does vary ever so slightly, and the variations be inherited, which is certainly the case; and if any variation or modification in the organ be ever useful to an animal under changing conditions of life, then the difficulty of believing that a perfect and complex eye could be formed by natural selection, though insuperable by our imagination, can hardly be considered real. "

"Your body is the temple of God, and you should treat it well...it is the only one you will get here"
does this mean if you dont take care of it and get really fat and dont work out and dont ask for forgiveness for doing that you wont get into heaven? when i was a christian "your body is the temple of God" was drilled into my head about not having sex. is it the same thing?? sounds like it to me.
the quote was from a question i asked about gaining weight.

Assuming the laws of physics and chemistry are immutable. I didn’t say we understood all of them, just that they can’t be changed. Our brains are basically just biological machines which are governed by the laws of chemistry and physics. Highly complex machines which given it’s current state and input (stimulus) will reach a certain output. No two brains are identical, so the output will be different for each brain. So, how does free will exist when the machine is governed by immutable laws?

Seriously , this is stupid as a person i can relax my hair if i want, i chose to do so because frankly, i have too much hair its so freaking curly and hard for me to handle so i get it striaght coz its easier. Its annoying people saying black women want my hair because it 'got white' in it. We should say to white girl who curls her hair that she wants afro hair, sooooo many white people get dred locks too and braids nowadays, when a white people wants a tan or dies their black, we should say 'omg they are so jealous they want to be black'.
Anyway the point is why do most people think like this? Dont i have the right to strighten my hair if i want to? Some times i like it afro some times i like it striaght. and weave is great because we have insist long or short hair or any colour or ouragous style dreds too we have plenty of choice. So why do people think black people want to be white when we decide to have a new look and straghted our hair or get weave? Cause we certainly do not.

I personally dont. To me Religion is goin to other people about your problems. a church, a pastor, a minister. yah christians can go to their minister or whatever, but not for the answer to anything?!

to me christianity is a way of life, havin your OWN personal relationship with God, where, YES you believe, and still be allowed to do things that the church wouldnt accept, like listen to certain music, smoke, drink etc.etc..

anyone else have thoughts?

... is superior to one based on spiritual belief?

I see a lot of "atheists" (truly inappropriate generalization) purport to know a "truth" (e.g., God doesn't exist) for one of two reasons:

1. The scientific evidence doesn't lead one to that conclusion
2. The burden of proof is on the "believers in the divine"

I'm not sure how a belief in the underlying axioms of a particular scientific dogma are any different than those of a religious dogma. For example, I've stated before on this forum that the cosmological principle is a fundamental axiom upon which a number of astrophysical principles are based, including the Big Bang hypothesis. Similar axiomatic structure exists for all scientific endeavor.

The fundamental nature of the universe in my opinion cannot be known by humankind because we are within the system we intend to measure. The origins of the universe, whether it was "designed" or not, etc I believe are beyond our ability to understand.

What say you?

...Why do so many middle class christians say they acheived financial security because they've been 'good christians so 'the lord' is blessing them'?
And why are there so many poor christians?
Are they the bad ones?
And why do I, a non-christian, have more money than most christians?
Just maybe it comes down to education, work ethics and a bit of good luck and NOT, in fact, Jesus?
