You are correct.
There is no such thing as free will. Our minds are constrained by biology, and this is not a problem. I could not imagine an organism that is capable of complete free will.
But I would argue that the human species has more free will than other species due to self-awareness. We can understand the mechanisms that influence our choices, and act accordingly. There are a range of choices available to us. Humans are not automatons; nor are we free. But we are somewhere in the middle range.

I love this question, you actually thought it out nicely. And I have come to the same conclusion. I think in theory if you knew everything then you could predict humans actions. Free will is almost like a leap of faith, people think they can choose something, and that it's their choice, no matter what inputs were given. Personally, I have no idea if I trully have free choice or not, although I like to think I do.

Your premise is faulty. You said"assuming the laws......"
You know what you do when you assume anything?
And since free will does exist, we must "assume" that the laws of chemistry and physics, don't cover everything. In the spiritual realm there is "spirit" and "soul" They allow us free will.
