There was yet another case of 'England' being used in the media today rather than the UK. Even the BBC is guilty. Is it ignorance or just a blind spot?

There's an excuse for people for abroad making this mistake, but not domestically.

To understand Gnosticism, said Hans Jonas, one needs something very much like a musical ear. Such a Gnostic "musical ear" is not come by easily. One person who seemingly possesses it is Professor Clark Emery of the University of Miami. In a small work on William Blake, Emery summarizes twelve points on which Gnostics tended to agree. Nowhere in the current literature have I found anything else so concise and accurate in describing the normative characteristics of the Gnostic mythos. Hence I shall present it here as a suggested collection of criteria that one might apply in determining what Gnosticism is. The following characteristics may be considered normative for all Gnostic teachers and groups in the era of classical Gnosticism; thus one who adheres to some or all of them today might properly be called a Gnostic:

The Gnostics posited an original spiritual unity that came to be split into a plurality.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating,
I don't believe in Mermaids but I don't spend countless hours trying to disprove it Because I know they are fairy tales,I could care less.
So if you are really set free liberated from religion and God MOVE ON.
Why waste your time?
You certainly will never convert or change a true Christains relationship with God because they know he is real.
I don't mean this sarcastic it just amazes me the wasted time and energy.

Some people say that this happened because of people's sins? Do you agree? Do you think the world as we know it will end because of people's sins? Will millions and millions of people die in the end times?

only the 4 dominant religions of earth (x-ianity,catholics,muslums and jews believe in monotheism(the belief in only one god) and all other religions believe in polytheism(the belief in more than one god). it would seem to me that the 4 dominant religions are the oddball minority religions since most others except the belief in many gods.who do these christianmorons think they are?they sure arnt like jesus-they are full of hate and have killed people of other religions for the last two thousand years all in the name of their prince of peace jesus ! they have destroyed pagan temples and killed their priests and priestesses and desacrated their shrines wile under the false pretenses of preaching tolerance, peace, and love.it just goes to show the true nature of their false god -Jesus.hell jesus said it best when he said,"know that i have not come to bring peace but a sword...

How do your parents feel about it? Did anything in your life change for the bad after coming out of the broom closet? I'm curious because I was thinking of revealing my love for the craft to a very close friend of mine. I doubt she'd be judgmental. But I'd just like to know what to expect so I'm not to surprised and be-waifed.

Why is there so much negativity toward christianity? I don't go around forcing what I believe in on someone else. Actually, I don't even talk about it to people unless they ask me. So, if I am good enough that I don't force my beliefs on anyone, why do the people that don't believe in that force their opinions on me?

For General info for all:- Zakāt (Arabic: زكاة) is the Islamic concept of tithing and alms. It is an obligation on Muslims to pay 2.5% of their wealth to specified categories in society when their annual wealth exceeds a minimum level (nisab). Zakāt is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

What is the minimum level (nisab) for the Salary? How do we calculate it?

Seems like I always start off good friends with some guys we hang out we talk everything is good bt then I am str8 out about by sexuality so there is no expectations..at first it seems all good..then after a time he begins to talk about how long his tounge is..how good a lover he is..or how he and his g/f want to do a threesome..i mean from a decent man to a pervert is what I have encountered and it is very disappointing..because even when I say I am a Lez why does it suddenly become an obssesion to convert me? or maybe its just my encounter with men?

We do not believe that we need to kill non-Christians in order to have a better shot at heaven. We do not fight back with guns and bombs if we think our God is insulted. We do not terrorize outsiders into conversion, by threatening them with torture or murder.

We do seek to make disciples of all nations, but that is by the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, preaching (words only), and prayer.

We do reserve the right to free speech, including the above-stated purpose, and the right to attend whatever church we please.

Give a tangible reason why such folks are perceived to be dangerous. What is dangerous about the Christian means of discipleship?

There is evidence out there, it's just that people have not made that big of a deal out of it.

Atheists love to believe that Christianity isn't true because there is no evidence for a monotheistic religion that is older than a few thousand years old when in reality there has been at least one monotheistic religion for over 100,000 years. This dates back to the beginning of humans.

The evidence is subtle, but it has already been addressed. There are plenty of good Christian websites that talk about this.

Monotheism was NOT an invention that is only a few thousand years old. Agree?

I know that man wrote the bible. But did they write what they believed or what they were told by devine intervention ?

God (the creator) created all. What about the dinosaurs and early (nianderthual) man? Whay was this left out of the bible ? was it a big secret of god that he refused to tell the writers about ? Or was it because that man didn't know about their exsistance and could not have included them ?
