why do christians think that their religion is the only correct one?

only the 4 dominant religions of earth (x-ianity,catholics,muslums and jews believe in monotheism(the belief in only one god) and all other religions believe in polytheism(the belief in more than one god). it would seem to me that the 4 dominant religions are the oddball minority religions since most others except the belief in many gods.who do these christianmorons think they are?they sure arnt like jesus-they are full of hate and have killed people of other religions for the last two thousand years all in the name of their prince of peace jesus ! they have destroyed pagan temples and killed their priests and priestesses and desacrated their shrines wile under the false pretenses of preaching tolerance, peace,and love.it just goes to show the true nature of their false god -Jesus.hell jesus said it best when he said,"know that i have not come to bring peace but a sword...

Christians (Catholics included) and Muslims alone make up nearly half of the planet's population, so I'd hardly call that the minority.

To answer the question, all people believe what they believe because it is what they feel is correct. So the same could be said about any religion, including atheism.

But you are right about a huge part of the Christians. They are so busy pushing what they believe that they don't think about why they believe it. Some of the Christians on Answers here are great examples of that: they need to stop throwing their Bibles at others and spend some more time in it themselves.

As for me, I am unable to differentiate between an unknown and unseen God and the infinitesimal likelihood of the naturalist explanation for the origin of the universe. Both are equally far fetched in my mind. But one has to be the truth.

Well a very sensitive question!
Needs an answwer which should not hurt xians and yet v should tell them what we know or think as corrrect
Christianity is just 2007 years old. There are other religions which are much older and many which are younger or comparatively new
Take the first point that unless you are a xian u can never go to heaven . There is no spl heaven for xians it is a place never seen or reported as seen by any one. If some one says so it is just ignorance or deliberate falsified statement!
You do good you will go to heaven if there is one or at least die happy , thinking of going there.
All heavens of normal perceptions, xian,muslim or hindu or what ever is a place where there is no hunger, but with everlasting youth and plenty of greenary ,slow moving rivers and of course many many good looking lady angels!!!
Xianity as a religion is good ,but dont trust those padris who got their extreme power from it or make a living of their religion from time immemmorial
It is politics particularly at present. All such religius guys want more people in it and therefore convert !

All of these others that you mention of having more than one god they worship are worshiping "gods"they have made for themselves, many of which you can break or burn. The others are nothing but what some one "wants" them to be.
The true and living God cannot be denied. He is the creator of all creation. Just take a look at yourself and see what intricate detail the LORD went to to make you as you are (not the part about not believing, that's all you). But God is real and Jesus is LORD of all. I pray the LORD will reveal this to you that you may repent of your sin and ask Jesus into your heart that you may be saved.

I'm sorry you have come into contact with hateful "Christians". i'm sick of them making the rest of us look bad. I'd like to make i clear we're not all like that. You are totally right in saying that Christians who are hateful and don't listen to Jesus and don't love one another are being stupid. That's not how we all are, but unfortunatly some "Christians" like to make te rest of us look bad with their pride and hate. That's what happens when God gives us free will.

But still, is it really fair to say th Christians are the only people like that? There are some muslims who have done some horrible things, but would you say that every one is planning on flying a plane at a US landmark? Didn't think so.

Christians get the worst of the bashing, despite every beleif having it's haters. It's really bias and stupid, and I' really sick of it. Whatever happend to when we were kida at school and we yelled about it being unfair when some jerk teacher punished everybody for what one kid did? Guess what? Most of culture has done a180 and because a few Christians do something stupid, we must all be loswers.

Because it's not really a "religion." A man, Jesus Christ, said "I am the way, the truth, the life, no one can come to the Father EXCEPT through Me."

He never said, "There are many truths, but I am the best one - pick me." He said "I am the ONLY truth." So basically, Jesus was saying that He wasn't one religious figure among many, that He was the son of the Living God - the only God. Believing in Jesus, to Christians, is the same as knowing about sub-atomic particles or the laws of the universe - it just IS. It's not some human-construct that we've arbitrarily said is "the best."

Probably for the same reasons Muslims believe they will die and go to heaven after they strap ten bombs around a child and force them to commit suicide, and after they will be rewarded with ten virgins in heaven. All Christians don't share the same beliefs and all Christians don't kill pagans! People kill each other because they are full of hate and greed. This is not what Jesus taught, therefore those people weren't true Christians! God warned us all that many would do horrible atrocities in his name, and that many false prophets would arise. Those people will get what is coming to them, stop trying to bash Christians, it makes me angry if you get my drift! Also get your facts straight, Jesus said the NEXT time he comes he won't come to bring peace but a sword. He already came to equip us with the tools needed to acheive peace, the next time he comes he will eliminate those who don't desire peace, no matter what religion they claim to follow. : )

I have a question for you : Do you think these criminals were really christian before God ?
Sound the Gospel, and you will see Jesus and his disciples killed nobody . People who are really christian don't hate or kill anybody. The sword Jesus talked about is the enmity put by God between the children of the serpent and His children. Gen 3:15 " And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and Her seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."
And some time after, Cain hated greatly Abel his own brother, and he killed him.
False Jew teachers hated greatly Jesus their own brother, and they delivered him to pagan Romans to be put to death on the cross.
False Jew teachers hated greatly the disciples of Jesus, and killed many of them by the hands of incredulous people.
False Christian teachers hated greatly the real Christian people, and killed many of them by the hands of incredulous people.
So it is the children of the serpent who hate and kill .
Never the real children of God will hate and kill anybody.

Christians? Shouldn't every believer have a confidence in his faith? Otherwise why choose that path if one is not sure?

Having confidence that ones faith is the correct path doesn't mean one need disparage another's . One can disagree while respecting another's privilage to adhere to the religion of his choice.
