We do not believe that we need to kill non-Christians in order to have a better shot at heaven. We do not fight back with guns and bombs if we think our God is insulted. We do not terrorize outsiders into conversion, by threatening them with torture or murder.

We do seek to make disciples of all nations, but that is by the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, preaching (words only), and prayer.

We do reserve the right to free speech, including the above-stated purpose, and the right to attend whatever church we please.

Give a tangible reason why such folks are perceived to be dangerous. What is dangerous about the Christian means of discipleship?

Interestingly, those who bring up a dark past, such as Inquisition, crusades, etc., are all talking about Roman Catholic atrocities.

Rosie O'Donnell says Christians are dangerous. Why? Because we object to homosexuality, and she's a homo: that's why.

Waco, Eric Rudolph, Paul Hill
All spring to mind as recently heavily armed Christians that didn't mind putting bullets into people.

The IRA & the Paisley people, burning out the Mormons at least twice, the Inquisition, more than a dozen crusades, assorted anti-communist death squads, & an awful lot of holy wars, "ethnic cleansing", and "sectarian" violence.

Don't try to pretend that all Christians are Amish or Quakers, we know you aren't and when you make these claims for all Christians, it just proves you lie, a lot.

Plenty of Christians have felt the need to shoot people to get to heaven, prove their theology is right, convert a heathen, or avenge an insult.

See Holy Inquisition, Witch Burnings, Crusades etc. Whatever evil has been done in the past two thousand years, has been brought on by so called 'christians'. Of course people today are wary of them.

The real problem lies in the inherent truth that is born into everyone of God's sons or daughters. With it they are able to feel when they are doing wrong and react with guilt. It can be deaded over time but when you attempt to bring the spirit into someone's life by the preaching of the word their guilt is reopened like an old wound and so we are dangerous because of the pain we can cause. Some are called to repantace by this means but those that are rebelling mostly want to stay that way.

Another point to consider is all of the wickedness done in Christ's name over the past 1800 years. Christians are by no means innocent and have enforced conversion by the sword in the past and so, even though you personally have never done so, a fear is still borne in some non-Christians hearts and though I understand the fear it is still as illogical as the fear of dogs becasue one in the past bit you. Are there some bad Christians? there are and they are quite loud, but there are many good Christians that desire to share the message they have because deep down they actually do care about all of God's children.

They are dangerous because they have no knowledge of history, especially their own. They have no idea of the terror "Christian" civilizations have caused and how that terror is influencing the world today.

Learn some history and speak from a historical perspective. Then people might respect you and agree with you.

Also historically, what follows missionaries is the military. And that is terrifying.

The way you put it all is fine. Nothing to worry about. But you could read selectively. You would not forget the 50 million killed by the Inquisition? The Holy one? You have forgotten the Crusades?

I believe Christianity can be dangerous. First, christianity and indeed all forms of 'magical thinking' are taught, first, to children. Whilst it is easier to raise children to be good kids with the fear of hell in their hearts it also detracts from their ability to discriminate truth and lies and to question authority- this brings on a severe detriment to critical thinking, A perfect example would be the homophobia of many christians today, despite the fact that only the old testament condemns homosexuality and christians are taught that the laws in leviticus are in fact, outdated and outmoded- the lack of ability to reason in christian adults has hampered them from making such an important connection and their lack of faith in science coupled with their blind faith in the bible renders them unable to understand homosexuality, for example, as a valid part of the human condition rather than as a choice dictated by the devil.

Christianity devalues truth-seeking and research, because the bible is said to be the only true authority all human endeavour into truth seeking is utterly pointless and all truth not in the bible, such as say, evolution in biology or a spherical earth in geography is rendered unimportant and impotent. (now christians believe in a spherical earth but the amount of corpses that were necessary for this to be inserted into christian mainstream belief is unequivocal.

Even though, as you say, Christians don't believe in killing non-christians, for most of christian history this has been false, and even today, there are many christians who sanction murder. America is one of the most successful, mainly-christian countries and the death penalty and polemics of divine justice are alive and well even there. When you have children so bereft of the ability to challenge preconceptions you have a distinct lack of progress, you also have very malleable little humans that can be brought up to actively hate and indeed believe any untruth that is told to them by somebody in a position of authority in their church- and we can see examples of this all over the world and throughout history. And if you believe christians believe in the right-to-free speech you need to look up the word blasphemy in the dictionary and then look in the history books for what has been done to those who do it.

So christianity, and indeed all forms of magical thinking are dangerous for society as they raise soldiers to a cause who will follow their leader blindly, no matter what is asked of them.

And just something to that sci-fi guy above. I don't think christianity should be considered dangerous for forgiveness. Prison, in a moral situation, is actually not about punishment and forgiveness, it is about putting people away to keep a society and its citizens safe, the cases you have cited, christians acted unethical due to favouritism, not because of forgiveness. Forgiveness is a positive virtue. Frothing at the mouth for revenge is unhealthy, one does not need a magic book to tell them that this is so.

they say that because christians are the majority. the majority is almost always considered dangerous by the minority and visa versa. the main thing though is that people don't like you forcing their beliefs on them such as anti-gay laws and telling people that their going to go to hell unless they switch to what they believe. i personally don't think christians are dangerous, what they do can get on my nerves sometimes, but people should be able to believe what they want to

You obviously have scant knowledge of the history of christianity.I suggest that you read about the christians push into south america and the results that had.Have you never heard of the inquisition?Have you never heard of all of the other wars started in the name of your god? This is incredible.

One reason Christians are dangerous is because they believe that criminals should be forgiven instead of sent to prison.

I have witnessed Christians concealing evidence, refusing to testify in court, and trying to justify it with scriptures. I have witnessed a Christian prosecuting attorney repeatedly violate state law and then plea bargain away 20 years of the criminal's sentence (after claiming that conviction was assured when the case went to trial) just because the criminal was a Christian who went to his church.

The idea of forgiving criminals instead of sending them to prison is at the root of the Catholic church's problem with pedophile priests.

It is also a prime reason why Christianity should not be tolerated.

Because many Christians are violent, hateful and intolerant.

Have you heard some of the more fundamentalist types of your religion speak? It's like listening to a terrorist organization.

I've been shouted at by Christians to the point were I thought they were going to hit me.

Christians commit hate crimes against gays, Muslims, pagans, black people, and women.

Individual Christians may or may not be dangerous, but it seems like when they come together as a group they become very dangerous.
