Actually, I think saying it could be 3,000 years old is being generous, since many historians date it as beginning in 30 A.D..
I would not trust a Christian website to give me an unbiased answer. I am sorry, but they have just recently began making themselves "older" to deal with the controversy over evolution and the discovery of fossils.
Whenever, I want an unbiased answer, I go to unbiased sources.
Show me what monotheistic religion began 100,000 years ago, with an unbiased source.

Agree. Monotheism is old, but so is believing in many gods. The only problem I have is when Christians say they're the oldest legitimate religion--when there are many religions much older than Christianity and that had many more followers.

Agree. Although very early peoples worshipped some mighty strange things (among them multiple gods), there existed some clans that had a monotheistic worship.
However, it cannot be proven that the monotheistic worship they observed was for the One God that was revealed to us by Abraham/Moses/Elijah/Jesus the Christ.

Generally Theism is around since the beginning of man. It is interesting that of all the life on the planet that 'evolved' humans are the only ones aware of their own mortality and can't accept Not Existing. Each civilization throughout the ages has it's concept of God (s) and what happens After you die. What purpose does this fact show about evolution?

Of course, monotheism can be seen, before the Christians, most predominately with the Jews.
