The amazing thing about Christianity is that the scriptures refer to the Holy Ghost as female. The original language is romantic so like French everything has a gender and before being translated into English (a non-romantic language) The Holy Spirit is female.

There are other scriptures some of us value that come from around those times.
The Gnostic gospels tell us a different story of creation.

The Holy Spirit is called Wisdom or Sophia and before the universe was created she was the consort to Christ.
She was ejected from Christ when she tried to experience the Father, who is unknowable.
In isolation she created the elements then matter and soul but in so doing formed the Demiurge who was blind to Sophia and considering itself alone said, "Let there be light."
The Demiurge moved on the face of the deep and saw it void and without form, for matter and soul were already made.
The Demiurge or Jehovah created the universe and angels both bright and dark.

MY OPINION:

At that point in time paradise was located inside the earth in Hades which was divided into two primary parts as seen in Luke 16. The righteous went to the side called paradise (Abraham's bosom) the unrighteous went to Gehenna (hell). Some argue that the word "today" is not the timing of where the thief would be, but when Jesus was saying it to him. While we can it pick over words, the meaning is obvious in the context of the statement. He would be with Jesus, where did Jesus go that day? Paradise.

Most people say that The theif is in heaven but that cannot be true because "Today" Jesus didn't go to paradise but he went to hell to get the keys so the Thief is in Hell as well, waiting until the day of resurrection.

Epesians 4: 8-10 "Therefore he says "when he ascended on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men: Now this he ascended what does it mean but that he first descended into the lower parts of the earth.

Do you agree or disagree?

We all know that catholics confess their sins to their preacher, but who does the preacher confess their sins to. And who does the pope confess their sins to? I'm not trying to show any disrespect here, I'm just very curious?

i saw something like this awhile ago

let there be light" = big bang.

separation of light and dark = formation of stars

Firmament = formation of the planet(s)

Separation of the waters = formation of atmosphere,

"waters under the heavens gathered into one place" to expose dry land. ...

plants, water creatures, land creatures, people, = basic progression of evolution.

doesnt it make sense? what great discoveries open thinking can lead to....

I'm 27 and I know that's not old, but at the same time, I keep feeling like I am getting older at this horribly rapid rate. I used to think being born in 1980 was this status symbol of being young, because most people were born in the 70s or before, but now people were born in the 90s and are becoming the new hip up-and-comers. It's so weird - I thought I would always be young and now it seems like people born in 1980 are old. Am I the only one hyper-paranoid about my age? It sucks!

Of course he didn't follow the bible, but I found this.......In an attempt to define why and in what way he was "religious, " Einstein said, "Try and penetrate with our limited means the secrets of nature and you will find that, behind all the discernible concatenations, there remains something subtle, intangible and inexplicable. Veneration for this force beyond anything that we can comprehend is my religion. To that extent I am, in point of fact, religious

Like, when you see that the leaders of our country believe in an imaginary man in the sky and heaven and hell and demons and the like, are you amazed that people that are that smart and educated believe in things like that? I just can't understand it sometimes.

So you say that all children are born believing in your God, and then Athists are brainwashed into not believing in God? How does that work? And what about kids on the other side of the world in non-Christian countries? Don't you have to be taught about something first? If you've never heard of a concept, how can you believe in it at all? You wouldn't even know the concept existed!

Can someone please explain this to me, how all babies believe in something they've never learned, and then are brainwashed? Because I'm pretty confused at this point.

I am a faithful Christian as well, but there is something on my mind that bothers me. What happens to the people who have never heard about God, do they really go to hell. I know the gospel has reached almost every part of the earth, but there are still some people who haven't heard about it. Isn't it unfair for those who haven't even had the chance to get saved?

I'm doing an assignment on the future of Chicanos as an ethnicity and would like to start it off with something really powerful, but I can't find any good quotes to use for my introduction. The RCC claims an unbroken connection to the Apostle Peter. When a Pope, who is considered the voice of Christ on earth, is proclaimed by a later Pope to have been "a False Pope" how are the proclaimations made by the false Pope dealt with by the Vatican? The current Pope has spoken in the past about false Popes and who is to say the next Pope will not claim that Pope Benedict was a false Pope? How do you logically reconcile this with the claim of "unbroken succession?"

Revelation 21
21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

"And there was no more sea."
For an old sailor like me, this verse, if it were true, would be one of the saddest verses in the bible.

ROFLOL!

Then you christians will say, "It's metaphorical, God has a way!" Well explain too how it is metaphorical, don't just say, "It's metaphorical" everytime you get stuck!

I have been single all of my life. I am 35 and feel I have wasted ‘The good years’ because I chose to live my life inside the house and become socially inept. I grew up in a severely dysfunctional family and discovered I liked boys when I was about 12 years old. I was molested by a guy when I was 5 years old and it went on for about 5 years. He was about 15 or 16 years old. He threatened to kill me and my family if I ever told anyone, so I remained silent until I was 28 and finally told my family. The nightmares and panic attacks were bad for 4 or 5 years until I was about 15. I lived my entire life in the closet until just 5 months ago. I came out to a guy I thought was gay and he just used me and discarded me like a piece of garbage. He just pretended to be my friend because he knew I loved him. He dumped our friendship just 2 weeks ago because he got a girlfriend.

So, I chose to live off of my divorced parents from age 18 until 35 moving back and forth between them over the years. Everything was just handed to me. In that time I just partied the pain away with pot and booze and told myself ‘I will worry about my life later’ thinking I would never know true love and will always be single. I held a few jobs for a year or so over this 17 year period, but never learned responsibility or about the real world. Now at 35 I am 350 pounds, live with my mom, am still a virgin because nobody wants to be with me and feel hopeless. I have been off the drugs and alcohol for over 5 years, but just replaced those addictions with food. I am gay and have no skills, no education, and have realized life has passed me by. I have no self esteem, dignity, or discipline and feel like a walking zombie. I am stupid and lazy. I want to know love and experience life now so very much. With no employment history, skills or almost anything else, where do I begin? The load is almost to heavy to bare. I want to change direction now but feel I have waited to long. Will I ever find true love and let go of this past baggage which has made me not want to get out of bed every morning for the past 17 years? PLEASE GIVE SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY-PLEASE NO HATERS. Thanks
