I could totally relate to what you feel. I socialize with teenagers and whenever they speak sense or act mature, I'm like, "Woah, and she/he was born just recently! How did that happen now?" When I read about something that happened in the 70's, I'm like, OK, that was so long ago....but then I realize that the younger crowd probably think that what happened in 80's was so long ago, even though the event could have happened AFTER I was born.
And, not just that, we are also asked to stock up on our vitamins and start using anti-ageing products in our twenties. We also hear that we should try to maintain the bodies we had at 18 if we wanna stay "healthy". I mean, I'm only 4 years older than a teenager, but I feel like a grandma already. Everytime I roll my eyes at my annoying 14-year-old cousin, I'm reminded of my old age.
When I was 19, someone who was 23 seemed older bordering on super-maturity. Now, that I'm 23 myself, I think that I'm only 4 years older than the 19-year-old nextdoor. But, I'm sure she doesn't think that way about me!
My only consolation is that I look better than I did in my teens or very early twenties.

I agree. I think about it all the time. I'm the same age as you, also born in 1980 (March 20), and it just seems like time is not only going by fast, but it's accelerating. When I think about high school & junior high, it seems like only yesterday, but in fact we're about twice the age we were back then; the Y2K scare was almost 10 years ago.

I'm 27 too. It depends were your faith is. For me, I believe in God and look foward to the next life. Of couse it's no fun getting older and dying, but at least I know why I am getting older and dying. But if you don't have faith in God, I would be worried, because each day you're getting worse and there isn't really a point in it all.
