to be honest the more and more I'm reading the more and more I think the bible is nothing more than a book written by power hungry people as a way to control other people.

I don't say this to upset anyone, at the end of the day this is my opinion, nothing more nothing less.

As I understand it, we are supposed to have faith in god?
but the same book states that we are not allowed to look for proof of that god. It kinda seems to me that your not allowed to try and prove the existance of your god?

The chosen people of God. So do Jews go to heaven even if they reject the idea of Jesus as a Savior? Are they the exception? I just don't understand how it works- it's a genuine question, so I am looking for genuine answers.

In the gospel its stated that many disciples cannot accept the fact that Jesus is giving his body and blood to his disciple and left. Sadly our separate brethren cannot accept this fact (among many doctrines) and they too break from the mother church.

To benefit the most of the Eurcharist, one has to receive the eucharist (in the form of wafer) with a grateful heart. Like the manna given to the Isralites during Moses' time, the Eurcharist is the supreme (spiritutal) food given by Christ himself to nourish our soul so that we may (cooperate with his grace) to combat the temptations and reach the soul of heaven safely. But confessions are necessary to make the most beneficial of receiving the Eurcharist.

It is not just a piece of bread where Catholics queue and receive each sunday mass.

God is omnipotent, which means God knows for sure what's going to happen in the future. If what's going to happen is already set in God's mind, do we really have any power to change it? That is, do we really have free will?

being raped and sexually assulted, I just heard a littel six year old girl got rapedby her stepfather. Christians how long will it be until God punished all the wicked? How long will God let this world go on, how long will he look at all this evil because God seems to be letting this go on for a long time, so when will God bring all this to a close. How long will evil continue? I am getting so confused about christianity not becasue of Jesus becasue I love him and the Father but becasue things that are too evil in this lifeless world seems to continue time after time after time after time. And I am sick to death of it. Kilds are bieng murdered everday, people are starving, people are depresed (like me) people cannot offord to live, people live on the streets. Christians what is going on? Why cannot God bring everything to an end now?

The last Prophet was Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) so why are people not following his teachings and reading the Quran which is the last miracle book to be sent down to mankind, and the only book that is preserved and not changed, unlike the bible and gospel and torah which have been revised many times and changed by men. How can people dare to change God's words.

I'm in my thirties, and until not too long ago, it seemed I was a teenager.

Now, the people of my generation are married and have children. (I'm not and I don't have children, though).

The people we admired in our youth for their talent or looks (or both), are now retired or are too old.
We no longer hear anything about them, and when we do we are disappointed.
(There are some noble exceptions, such as, Paul McCartney, John Travolta and Madonna, who seem to resist to time, though.)

We see a new generation flourishing (or even new generations flourishing), about which we can remember very well things from the time they were born.

What do you miss when you think of those old days?

(And while at this... When we were young, didn't it feel like we were going to remain as such forever?...)

During the 1000 year reign when the former things will not be brought to mind, and new scrolls are opened leaving the bible on the shelf, and then Satan and his demons are released from the abyss....How will we remember the bad things that happened? What will we have as a reference? Won't we be as innocent as Eve and Adam? Could we fall for the same tricks of the devil they did?

I struggle with road rage, it drives me crazy to be cut off and then have that same person slow down to turn a block later, or to be tail gated and please don't let someone go sixty in the fast lane, grrr. I find myself wishing the horn was really a loud speaker so I could give them some useful information (so to speak). But then I remind myself how wrong this attitude is and I try to calm myself and apologize to God and whoever was in the car unfortunate enough to witness my bad judgement. Is there something about yourself that you wish you could change or control?

I am currently looking for new ideas for activities for independent senior citizens. I want to jazz up my calendar with new things for them to do instead of the same ole same ole. They love to play cards and bingo...I will always keep those activities on the calendar. I would like to add some new spice to the calendar. They are independent. They all have their senses, some of them are getting to the point where they don't want to do a lot of physical activity. If any of you have any ideas please post for me. It would be most appreciated.

I guess I'm lucky to have grown up in a household of PhD's and to have obtained multiple degrees to see how stupid university professors are first hand.

These people are behind the anti-christianity movement because they want you to give them all the respect.

These same idiots were behind the centralized economies before the soviet union collapsed.

I understand that Protestants believe in only Heaven and Earth.

But based on the no. of sins we committed each day (no matter how small they are), thus it mean its a free passport to heaven as long as we continue to sin and ask for God's forgiveness?

Why are Protestants bashing Confession and purgatory which is so relevant to Church teaching?
