Deb, I think the conditional amnesia (lol) you're referring to doesn't take effect until after Satan and his followers are completely destroyed. We'd have to be able to remember some things from the former system, or else none of the Armageddon survivors could communicate with the newly resurrected. How could we welcome Abel back to life if we don't remember who he was or what happened to him?
Once all evil has been removed, I'm sure that the former things will be forgotten more in the sense that there will be no need to recall them, not necessarily that they will be wiped from our minds... history is always valuable, and I'm sure Jehovah would like everything on record so that we know what to expect if anyone decides to rebel again.

Of course, we know the dangers of speculation, especially in public view! Anything you post here can be used by JW bashers and apostates to claim that we are spreading "false prophecy". We aren't allowed to have an opinion or speculate about matters that the bible doesn't specifically address.
OK, got the sarcastic, preemptive defense out of the way!
In my OPINION, not having the former things called to mind for a thousand years will change the way we think in dramatic ways. Any sort of badness would become foreign to us! So when Satan and his demons are let loose again, imagine how recognizable it will be to us! It's like the illustration of a veteran bank teller who handles real cash all day and knows its texture and fine detail! Imagine what happens when a counterfeit bill passes through her hands! She notices right away and the internal "alarm" goes off! That's how badness will be to us! Satan's wiles will not be so effective. If we then choose Satan's way at that point, it will be a conscious choice and not some kind of "default" choice due to imperfection or lack of knowledge! This also brings into perspective the seriousness of what Adam & Eve did, doesn't it?! Adam & Eve CHOSE to believe Satan! That is why they will not receive a resurrection!
Having said all of that, rangedog (above) might be right- former things not being called to mind might be AFTER the 1000 year reign. Research...
Once again- THIS IS NOT JW DOCTRINE! It is only my imaginings of what may come during the period of time in question! Besides, the question is asked of Witnesses and no one else! Please respect the asker's wishes, will you?!

You know, I have thought on this subject some and I have come to the conclusion that by the end of the thousand years, we will be in a groove of doing things a certain way and when Satan is let loose again, we won't want anything to do with him. We will still have the meetings, our Bible studies to teach, life will still be pretty much like it is now, just no sickness, death, crime, etc. I think we will still have the Bible we have now, but more will be added to it (new scrolls). We will still remember Satan and the things he did. Think about all the ones coming back in the resurrection, we will have to be telling them what all had happened. Anyway, that's just my thoughts on it.
I did hear a brother say in a talk once that the first fifteen minutes in the new world will be better than anything we have ever felt before in our lives! I look forward to that.
I totally agree with Anomaly.

During the 1000 years Satan and his demons will be put aside and "imprisoned" until their time to come out to test the people on paradise. The devil is a great influencer of wickedness so who knows how many people will fail the final test. Remember just because we'll be perfect and innocent doesn't mean we won't still have free will.
Oh, and Adam and Eve never knew of wickedness since they were made into perfect humans by Jehovah himself, and even they fell to Satan's lies.

Not a JW but OH BOY! i have to agree with your fellow brothers and sisters. you might've opened up a door to have your religion be criticized again but you did receive some wonderful comments. I'll research your questions.
LOL.... by the way, "the devil is now in bondage?" who answered that??? proof please.
All i see are proofs of the devil still actively roaming around! War, sickness-of all kinds, pain, suffering, hatred, crime, NO PEACE! The devil is very much in the midst of us.

When the bible says that the former things will not be bought to mind, it means it won't have a hold on our mind. If any one saw a loved one die, was raped or abused in any form, these things will no longer make us fear, cry, or be depressed, but really sis, talk to an elder or mature one in your congregation. This place can be a den of vipers for these types of questions.

Woould you want to remember the bad things you have done? The Bible teaches there will be no more tears or any kind of sorrow and I believe that.

Perfection is not achieved until after the reign.
Jesus is still ridding the wicked.
Also, we have Daniels writings that will not be found until Armageddon, so there is written instructions awaiting us.
Two: yes the Bible will be expired, but much of it's guidance will still be used.
Remember now, the 144,000 will be guiding the 'chiefs and chieftains'.
I'll look it up, but I'm sure the 'former things will not be remembered', doesn't occur until after the reign, and all of God's enemies are put down.

Well at least we are going to be 1000 years more experienced beings, second we will notice the differences when the good Spirit and the Evil one operate, we still have the bible as a reference, millions of people who resurrected will be also a testimony, etc,etc

Hey Debbie... This is a good question.... Of course our main concern is just making it there at the moment and then we will worry about everything later... :) Let me ponder this for a while and I will edit it later and get back to you... :))))
Hubby and I talk about Paradise and how things will be a lot and different situations (Of course having no idea what it will be like until it happens) trying to keep this reward real to us. So thanks for the question. :)))
