GOD or Man's?
Do you care in pleasing yourself first or GOD?

John Calvin rightly called the human heart “a factory of idolatry,” meaning that faithful worship does not come naturally to fallen human beings. Sinners become idolaters because God has so deeply planted the need for himself in human beings that when we do not know the true God, we invent false gods, false religion, and false worship. God warns against such idolatrous worship in the first commandment: “You shall have no other gods before me.” The idolatrous worship of false gods is condemned throughout the Bible.

Darwin then started to notice gravity.Wow what goes up must come down.How brilliant! I'll take the credit for gravity, thank you. It is called bias against the Church.Darwins theory of relativity was also as admirable.He got that from marrying his cousin. Its all relative. He observed some facts and mixed them in with an assumption based theory, passed them off as scientifically based theory, and there is a difference. Its called the skin of the truth stuffed with a lie . All to which at the end of his life go back to believing in God and creation, which I doubt he actually ever stopped believing. He was also very regretful that he had such a big following and that people had actually took his anger/ revengeful/ assumption based theory of evolution, so seriously. And he had not lost his mind when he made this change back to God. Hmm, just blew your evolution gun into smithereens with my created nuclear warhead. BOOOOOM!!!! Your gun was designed by a disgrunteled baptist(christian). Ha

I saw some posts about homosexuality today so I wanted to get a decent discussion going.

Personally, I think that's a private matter between that person and the powers that be.

If you don't agree with it then fine, don't agree with it. What will anyone accomplish by making a fuss over it?

I will address christians specifically here:

I think Jesus showed us what to do in this case whenever people were getting ready to stone the poor woman who was a prostitute. He said something like let he who is without sin cast the first stone right?

Instead of worrying about what homosexuals are doing why not just go out and use up that energy to help someone instead of condeming people.

Am I off base here or something?

I have been working at Wal-Mart as a cart pusher for 1 1/2 years and it really sucks. It's either too hot or too cold, scheduling does not work for my college classes and it is the worst job in America. We get paid the lowest salary and they don't care about us or my college schedule. There is NOT one damn thing delightful about this job. I was awarded Cart-Pusher of the Year and a $25 bonus added to my check, but I am calling this a "Mercy Gift." I am transferring to a larger college this fall and I don't care if they don't like my new college schedule. What am I to do?

First why do so many of you compare homosexuality with racism??? where in the bible does it ever speak of hating different races????

Man created racism not GOD. It's a slap in the face to black people IMO by comparring thier struggles in the USA with devaint sexual acts.. People of faith are trying to follow the Word of GOD, not by being holier than thou, but by condeming things GOD said are WRONG.

Sex out of marraige, adultery, homosexuality, beastiality a host of other sins are right in the Holy Bilbe that GOD says are
SINS...

As a society do we have the right to throw out the window things in the Bible people do not like? if that's the case why have the Holy Bilbe? why have any churches

Does the Bible have any meaning when people pick it apart?
If society says the bible has messages of bigotry then are you saying GOD is a bigot?

some insects are known to be found on every coninent including Antartica, which boast a perpetually cold climate. However, all insects are cold blooded, which means they are incapable of producing their own body heat and therefore require external forms of heat (i.e. the sun) in order to sustain themselves. Same story with some reptiles. That being said, how is it that some insects, including roaches, are able to live in Antartica and other cold climates which lack the heat they require to survive? Where do they obtain heat?

The belief system that believes in constant sharing through active listenning, empathy, sympathy and affirmation each of us unto another, apostling unto one another for healing.

One all knowing ever present God which is inside of us also, we are a part of that God.

No eternal damnation because God cannot separate from God's self. Everyone resurrects upon death, specialness is in the witness, not the resurrection.

Our lives are an illusion containing our passions to live within a reality of predestined circumstances.

Everyone is doing their best

Everything comes from God and as humans who are striving to get along with each other our job is to worship those part(s) and ways of beings of God that help us to functionally cooperate with one another in Forgive Affirmed Spirit.

Prayer of last resort when all else fails, when feelings are shunned and exchange of conscious thought won't penetrate your enemy;
May the Force of Caring cause them the conflict that will cause them to become a Forgive Affirmed Spirit, so as to care more about the ones they abuse.....feelings and survival.

I used to be one of those people that wondered, "why do gay people have to always want their own separate stuff like they are so special? separate parades, and events and such..." I used to think, its your sexuality. stop segregating yourselves...

That was until i joined Yahoo Answers. Being a black muslim woman i am part of two minority groups, and lets be honest, those are not two of america's favorite groups to be a part of, lol. Yet it is who i am...

I hear people on here all the time making rude comments about why blacks have to have a BET, or a newspaper, or a black history month... And basically saying the same thing that i used to say about the LGBT community...

Now i see that its not about segregating yourself, its about being around peopple who you can identify with, and express yourself, and be represented and treated fairly, and that is an AMAZING feeling when you're amoungst others and you can be yourself and be PROUD to be you.

The world is a burning airplane. Religion offers some small degree of hope. Anthropology offers dinosaur bones. It would be wise to look for a parachute before jumping.
I decided to build a temple to atheism in my home. I thought it would be appropraite if the temple was made from dinosaur bones. The bones were just like god. Not available.

I found a toad in my room 2 days ago and put him outside... then last night when i was about to go to bed i found(i think its the same one) under my bed. Does this "mean" anything. And i have no idea how it keeps getting in, my house doesn't have holes in it, and we don't keep the front door open because we have two dogs... any suggestions on toad repellent? haha.

hello...i'm a 22 yr old woman. i got married 3 months ago. we had dated for 3 yrs and he's 27. i thought marriage would be the best thing to happen to me but it's beeing proved otherwise.....we guys bicker over small issues. i must confess i'm the one to start it most of the times...i just mean to be playful...he plays along too but then we end up having a big argument. he does come up to me to make it up but........
i hate it when he treats me like a baby...i mean he's a great guy and all but when it comes to decision making...i'm left out most of the times. i not outta uni yet but that doesn't mean i'm a kid. it irritates me when i'm all so excited about something and he's cool about it. i feel like he takes it to be too immature of me. i know he's older but not that much. it really irks me. wat do i do? i've noticed we end up arguing on everything and then he comes back to me....i do like it...but he treates me like a child...wat do i do?

Why?...i dont understand why they have this way of thinking... my points are the following
1) so, you go to hell no matter what, good person or bad person, it doesnt matter if you're not a muslim.
2) there are many amazing people who believe in their religion and really do good things and just because they're not muslim they go to hell...
3) how can they judge this since only God knows and decides...
i've interacted with many muslims and they have told me that i'm still young and can save myself from hell, by becoming a muslim (i'm a christian, which tries doing all the best to be a good believer) ... so they think i'm going to hell...
isnt this really terribly wrong?...as i've heard from other sources, if a muslim converts someone to islam, they go directly to heaven...is this true also?... if it is, then it is really not fair...beeing a completly bad person all your life, but converting someone would guarantee you paradise...
so, can anyone enlighten me with some answers?
