I must have missed the part of the Sermon on the Mount that talked about killing people to liberate them, or how pre-emptive invasions against uncertain threats are a good time.

I love the self righteous "stand with our men or in front of them" idiots.

I am a veteran. I opposed this war before it started, because it was a waste of our time, and waste of our lives.

Hindsight is 20/20. If you'll notice, public support for the Iraq war has fallen precipitously over the past couple of years...

As a Christian, I never realized that I did support the war in Iraq. I always thought the U.S. should have never bowed down at the alter of realpolitik and furnished Hussein with all those deadly toys, especially when it was well known the uses he was putting them to. But, no, it was more important to preserve the Iraqi state against the Iranians (who might have possibly had their own reasons to be mad us), regardless of future repercussions. Then when the U.S. figures he might be getting too big for his britches, it first tells him that it has "no opinion on Arab-Arab conflicts like your border disagreement with Kuwait" and then uses his invasion of Kuwait as a justification to attack him.

How many 9/11's will it take before we are allowed to defend ourselves???

Homeland security has stopped numerous threats here at home....the threats to other countries...The UK??

Is your freedom worth so little that you will not fight for it or defend it??

If you can't stand behind our men, then are you choosing to stand with the enemy?

that was the story during WW I and WW II, Pearl Harbor, the Alamo......

Sermon on the mount....recall when Abraham and his people had to liberate his nephew Lot and all their people??

We are living in the last days....things are going to get much worse...

because in the united states (on the most part) you are either republican or democratic. republican = x-tian= supporting the war! democratic = everything else. republicans use x-tianity as a defense for their arguments. as oppose to democrats who use facts. and if your not a republican, then your not a x-tian and your not for the war.

im generalizing here, this is what it looks like to people outside of the usa!

Maybe because of love and concern for the Iraqi people? And a willingness to sacrifice for the good of others?

I've often wonder the same thing. War definitely isn't pro-life!

My understanding is that GW said that God told him directly to attack Iraq, and many Christians believe him because GW claims to be born again. If you ask me he considers himself to be the perfect leader to see us through "Armageddon".

Knowing much about the American Soldier I can see.
They kill people all the time just to liberate them uh-huh.
You need to talk to one of them when they get home...

Because Jesus informed our President to carry out these actions. They were necessary.

They don't, but:

Psalm 139
-----------------

1By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

5If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

In the end I would like to tank all those who disagree with me for some reason yet they can't deny the fact that this Psalm exists.
