Could you tell me which churches believe in purgatory, and the verses in the Bible that support it's existence.

Many thanks for any help.

"If you are so loving and powerful why did you let such horrible things happen to the people your son died for"? Since I can't ask him I'll ask all you Christians this question, and please don't give me your standard answer that I hear every time I ask someone this question, "God gave us free will"

Realistically, its perfectly natural for humans to question existence and the afterlife, we all do it, I do too. The question I guess I'm just concerned that many people who assume a religious following forget about they're needs and interests. I don't believe that religions- like christianity or islam- if they're real then no one can be wrong for doing whatever they want. People need to focus on themselves first, and focus on whats real NOW - instead of focussing on whats real in an eternity, because for all we know Life may be our last chance of life.

If idol worship is a sin then why do Christians and Catholics alike when their in church they bow their heads cross their chests and pray to Crucifixes and images of Jesus. Isnt that hypocritical? I'm an Atheist so I see most religious writing to be full of it and hypocritical.oh and b4 any of you hard butt religious people out there start saying im gonna go for hell for whatever reason that just shows how little your faith accomplished

I simply cannot believe how poorly native English speakers use their own language on this site. It's a disgrace!

"You are" is NOT "your" as a contraction! It's "you're"! Aaarrgh!!
You people look like absolute idiots when you write it like that.
"Sort of" is NOT "sortive". "Sortive" is not even a word!
"I don't know" is not "ardno". Morons!
"They are" isn't "There" or even "Their" it's "They're"!!

I can understand it if you aren't a native English speaker but most of the people making these mistakes ARE native English speakers. Those of you reading this who know what I'm talking about can relate. How can you not know the most basic parts of your own language? You are like bus drivers who don't know where the stops are, or painters who can't open a can of paint.
It's pathetic. From now on I'm only going to answer questions that are in proper English.

Doesn't this bother anyone else??

why do we all have such different personalities and beliefs? I believe in God and love him with all I have, but I am still confused as to why, we all were given different lives, chances and some didnt get the opportunities as others. He says he is a fair and just God, yet I dont really see fairness in much of anything. if he was fair and Just we would all have the same.

i think so.. i think it would be a good idea, and perhaps they were meant for each other. on the other hand maybe not because i don't think it would be possible for the tallest man in the world to have kids with the shortest woman because she could not possibly have his baby.

I realize that the New Testament is all about selling your soul to Jesus, so I'm not really talking about that.

BUT, why do people that oppose the Bible always completely and totally ignore the obvious moral of the story "Evil will Kill us all, but Good would save us all" and focus on the outlandish stuff like miracles and GOD and stuff? Morality, compassion, higene, and other safe practices are good. Being an evil swine is bad. What more do you want?

By focusing on the 'miraculous' events and whining about how they aren't true, we do the Bible a great disservice. By focusing on the handfull of times when some 'holy' guy says 'KILL THAT HOOKER!'. We make it seem as though that was GOD's idea. Well it wasn't. It was a desparate idea thought up by some destarate man. Just like capital punishment.

Consider the possibility that all of those guys that did that evil crap were wrong. Consider the possibility that that was the whole point of that chapter. Then you might understand.

This is the answer she got from a black man....

Let me start by saying that I am a 28-year old black man. I graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in Atlanta, Georgia With a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. I have a good job at a major corporation and have recently purchased a house. So, I consider myself to be among the ranks of successful black men. I will not use my precious time to slander white people. I just want to set the record straight of why black men date white women. Back in the day, one of the biggest reasons why black men dated white women was because they were considered easy. The black girls in my neighborhood were raised in the church. They were very strict about when they lost their virginity and ,who they lost it to. Because of our impatience to wait, brothers would look for someone who would give it up easy without too much hassle. So, they turned to the white girls. (continued below)

I've heard it said that you can tell a true Christian by his or her deeds and the fruit they leave. I've also heard it said that deeds are unimportant to God - what's paramount is belief and acceptance of Him and Jesus. (If deeds were important, I've been told, an atheist who's led an exemplary life, but rejected God, could go to heaven). Since that doesn't seem to be the case...

Question: If all Christians accept God and Jesus, what makes some "true" and others not so true?

When you first came to this path, did it come easy to you?
Do you remember feeling as though you had always known certain things?
Did you find that ideas popped into your head, then on researching you found that your idea is fact?
I guess what i am asking is, Do you believe that your soul has been on this path before?
Blessed be!

This man has been working for 3 years under the group I manage, and he is a great worker. After he announced his wedding to everyone, he said that he preferred cash over any other gift. I am kind of tight on my budget because I am looking to buy a house. I was thinking to give him a gift of no more than $100, but after hearing his preferences I feel pressured to give him cash and I feel awkward giving him the $100 because it may be seem as too little.
Is $100 too little for a wedding present?
