i heard that halloween is actually a day when all those satan-loving-people gather to worship him with the expectation that he will come to them... maybe i'm wrong but its just an opinion

Recent anti-Trinitarian questions have stated that the early Church did not believe in the Trinity. If that is your position, how do you explain these early Christian writings, some about the second person and some about all three persons of the Trinity?

1. Justin Martyr referred to the deity of Christ so often that space does not permit the reproduction of his statements here. But this statement of his sums it up succinctly: "We will prove that we worship him reasonably; for we have learned that he is the Son of the true God Himself, that he holds a second place, and the Spirit of prophecy a third.” This is a clear description of the Trinity.

2. In the Huleatt Manuscript from 50 AD is found a description of Mark 14 (where a woman pours perfume on Jesus). It says “...But, when the disciples saw it, they were indignant.... God, aware of this, said to them,: “Why do you trouble this woman?’” Jesus is the speaker about whom the writer says, “God ... said to them ....”

3. The letter of Barnabas in 74 AD says, “And further, my brethren, if the Lord endured to suffer for our soul, he being the Lord of all the world, to whom God said at the foundation of the world, 'Let us make man after our image, and after our likeness,' understand how it was that he endured to suffer at the hand of men" (Letter of Barnabas 5).

4. In 140 AD, Aristides wrote, "[Christians] are they who, above every people of the Earth, have found the truth, for they acknowledge God, the creator and maker of all things, in the only-begotten Son and in the Holy Spirit" (Apology 16).

The list goes on and on, but nobody likes a lengthy question and this one’s too long already.

This minister lost everything for questioning the existance of hell. Is this just a huge misunderstanding or is it another example of how "thinking" is looked down upon in Christianity. What are your thoughts?

I was born in a catholic home and went to a catholic school, However i always realised that all of those stories in the bible could not possibly be true example, Adam and Eve, Noah etc etc. I also realised that Jusus Christ was nothing more than a great revolutionary defying Roman domination. My question is:
Do you really believe, honestly now, that mankind began with just two people? That Noah built an ark etc.? That a virgin gave birth to a baby? Seriously, do you take thiese things literally?

"Things fall not because they are acted upon by some gravitational force, but because a higher intelligence, 'God' if you will, is pushing them down," said Gabriel Burdett, who holds degrees in education, applied Scripture, and physics from Oral Roberts University.

This was taken directly from Kiba's comments on another question. Good point. I would appreciate your comments. Do you have faith that all the matter just existed, and no one made it? That it just was?

I had a dream that on the way to work, my fiance and I would get to a set of traffic lights, there would be a detour and We would be forced to drive in a particular direction and would get ridiculously lost.
So I woke up and on the way to work there was an accident at a set of lights, the police had set up a road block, the detour took us in the direction I dreamed and we did get totally lost.
This has been happening a lot lately, I dream silly little things like this and it happens.
Whats your explanation? I am perfectly open to answers from skeptics if they can help me understand whats going on here.
Thanks.

Here is how you can, pray this simple prayer and you will always have a place in God's kingdom. . . .

Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I invite Christ into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.

That is all it takes, God loves you, he forgives you for any sins you have committed. There is nothing stronger than God's love. God bless.

Philippeans 3:

I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

The bible is the word of God. So is John 1:1 talking about the same word? Is the book we hold in our hands the creative power the made the universe?

I don't think it is.

The old testament is a collection of historical record, law, moral stories, etc.

It may have been inspired by the almighty but it is not his words. Men wrote it. In some cases they wrote down what God said word for word but men wrote it all.

Jesus didn't write the new testament. His followers did. They wrote it from their point of view, eye witnesses, and some personal experiences.

Translators have tainted it through the years by translating it to match their doctrine. That isn't done as much any more but it does happen.

Now you have further watering down with such translations like the Message and Word on the Street.

My point is this and question is this:

Is the bible a tool to discover God and his son Jesus? Is it something to give us an idea on morality that is expected of us by God?

i'm a christian. gays say god made them that way because of a mistake. any true christian knows god is perfect. my brother came out a few days ago so i've been pondering homosexuallity a lot. it's really weird. I've known him for 18 years yet never knew he was gay. also, he was sleeping with is gf barely a month ago! i honestly believe being gay is a choice. I also believe homosexuallity is more likely to happen without positive male role models. my mom wears the pants in the house. dad's a pu$$y! following orders and whatnot. before he got married he used to hunt. mom got rid of that. she through a fit when I started karate! she wanted me to quit but i didn't listen because it's my favorite hobby. when i was 13 i got caught w/ porn/playboys and my parents made me feel immoral for it. my gay bro (str8 back then) saw it. if/when i catch my kids w/ porn i'm not gonna panic (depending on their age)

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
