Realistically, its perfectly natural for humans to question existence and the afterlife, we all do it, I do too. The question I guess I'm just concerned that many people who assume a religious following forget about they're needs and interests. I don't believe that religions- like christianity or islam- if they're real then no one can be wrong for doing whatever they want. People need to focus on themselves first, and focus on whats real NOW - instead of focussing on whats real in an eternity, because for all we know Life may be our last chance of life.

I have never questioned my existence, nor do I believe in an "afterlife." I believe that life evolved, and I expect that after I die I will no longer exist, just as I didn't exist before I was born.

Life is our only chance at life. There is nothing else.

Johnny Reb, you are completely wrong. I've had a gun held to my head, with threats to blow me away, I've been close to death due to illness, but I've never become so irrational that I would "cry out" to a god that doesn't exist.

My beliefs give me direction in the life I am living now. Positive direction that leads to a better life...in this one AND in heaven. Talk about the best of both worlds!

Too many folks worry about what they think God is going to force you to give up. It's not like you become a Christian and suddenly everything is sinful! When you allow Christ in your heart, He works with you to help you become your best. Hopefully that means a loving, respectful human being (not often found on R&S).

If your "interests" aren't in your best interest, then our loving God will place conviction on your heart about it. You will then choose to do something about it... or not.

Blessings to you as you try to figure out what all of this means in your life:)

I ask "Wisdom" this exact question and here is the answer I received:.... "Believe in God, don't pretend to believe in God, for it's the pretending that gets man in trouble".

It's all about the weakest link........in your experience of existence. At your weakest moment, you WILL cry out to God. So why not pay your respects now?
