I mean people are pushing for homosexuals getting married then why can't people marry multiple people. Just a question and a random thought?

Two wrongs don't always make a right. I'm not against homosexuals myself as long as they don't try to interfere in my daily life by imposing their ideologies on me, then I'm perfectly ok with them. Even what I just typed is a bit prejudice against them so the moral of the story is to look deep within yourself and see what you believe is right or wrong. Society may say it's wrong to have more than one spouse but remember society as a whole has been wrong on many things before. In the United States it is however illegal to marry more than one person so if you don't want to go to jail I wouldn't try it.

The reason it was done in the past was because so many men died in wars that there were many more women than there were men. That's not the case anymore.
In one offshoot of the Mormon church that still practices polygamy, the church elders marry several women each. This means there aren't enough wives to go around. They have driven young men out of the community to cut down on the competition and left them homeless.
Now give me a good reason why gays can't marry.

Men can't marry more than one because bigamy is illegal in the US.
Why in the world would you want to marry two women? You want to come home and get nagged by TWO women. Most of you men can't pay for the one you've got and you want TWO, twice the hair, makeup, nails, clothing, shoes, etc?
Or better yet, why can't a woman marry two men that she loves? Polygamy is fun, polyandry is better.

You can only legally marry one woman. Mormans however marry many woman in a religious ceremony and the other woman are not recognized by the state.

If there is a way you can go to Utah, you can marry more than one woman. There are Mormons, and the don't believe in monogomy.

Suggestions like this are the very reason we SHOULD NOT legalize gay marriage!! It opens up a whole Pandora's box of societal trends we DO NOT WANT!!
