I took the Belief-Net Quiz, which had a result as 100% Roman Catholic, and then 96% Protestant.

Does this mean there is potentially only a 4% difference in the beliefs of Catholics and Protestants? If this is possible, then should we really be arguing, fighting, and killing one another over 4%?

(And yes, I am 100% Catholic. That also makes me 100% Christian.)

Is there anybody else who feels an absolute joy and sense wonder and fulfillment when learning about the true scientific reasons for the how the universe and everything that is in it came to be ?

Do you feel an immense sense of wonder and amazement when you contemplate the sky at night and marvel at all we have learnt about our orgins and existance and all that there is still to know ?

Finally do you think that this joy and wonder is far superior to simply accepting ancient dogmatic myths as a way of explaining the world around us

Then 6 months later he is still there and obviously got very comfortable. In the beginning he did some work for us on our house and we paid him but he gave us a good rate. Then as the months went on, he stopped doing anything for us and when I would ask him for a quote on something, it would be outrageous. Meanwhile, we paid for his use of our power for those 6 months and never asked him anything in return. That cost about $200 total. So we finally ask him to leave because he's all lazy and comfortable now and I think he started resented us for what we had and what he didn't have, and he got really pissy about it and finally left and started telling lies to people about us. I just can't believe how ungrateful he is. WWYD? He's unstable too. I don't know whether to call him and tell him to stop telling lies to people or just let it go. And who has a right to be mad here? I think it's my husband and I!

I just asked a question minutes ago about the beliveabilty of evolution and seemed to get two common answers: evidence, and also that I was mixing up the Big bang theory and evolution. Well okay so maybe I did I thought if you belive one you *usually not always* belived the other. So setting the Big Bang theory aside, what is the evidence. Convince me. I have an open mind. I seek the truth, convince me. Show my why you belive it don't just say evidence. Yes of course people say that but have they seen it? Have you people ever found a mutated fish fossil? Umm, ya sure there have been some fossils. Man made ones; old bones sautered together. They've found them to be fakes, evolutionists deny it of course, but they were fakes. And that whole evolving horse thing? Y aI studied that not so convincing. Ever heard of a little thing called species? Ya um who says they weren'tdifferent species none of them looked like really mutated to me.

I've not seen either, but I have seen lots of pictures of supposed monsters and apparently intelligent American's. Of course these could be lizzard people in disguise.

im an asian 16 year old, and my life was hell. i had faced rasicsm, my father had left my family, and i had thoughts about sucide. but on tuesday, that all changed. a JW came to my door, and now ive been studing ever since for the hope to become a jw and get baptized. But what i want to know is, how come people hate them? they are very nice, better than the people at my mothers church, and I love being at the kingdom hall. My life has changed becuase of them, and whats funny is i was praying to god to ask him to give me a meaning in life, and then the jw came to my door. so..why do people hate them?

I see it said in here all the time that Catholics, JWs, Mormons... etc. are not Christians. Who defines which churches are Christian and which are not? How can you be so sure your's is?

On the one hand Christians tell me god doesn't intervene in human affairs because we have free will and that would be a violation of our free will. On the other hand, they say prayers aren't answered because it's not God's will. So which is it? Do we have free will or does God's will rule?

I wa srecently diagnosed with terminal cancer. To help take some of the burden off my spouse and family, I have begun to plan my own funeral. I have selected the venue and have decided on cremation. I would like my ashes scattered in three different locations: Over the Caribbean Sea, the Volcanoes of Hawaii, and the lake in from of the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. For the funeral service itself, I am expressly asking that no one wear black. I would like everyone in tropical/casual clothing. Also, for the closing song, I would like Jimmy Buffett's "One Particular Harbour" to be played. I don't want this to be a sad occasion, as I have enough time to connect with friends and say my goodbyes. My spouse doesn't feel that my arrangements are befitting and proper. Thoughts?

I never did until 1991, when I faced the Undertaker for the first time, brother. No matter what I did, that dude kept on trucking after me, dude.

He even came OUT of a casket and tried to put me in their, brother. He had that sneaky Ric Flair helping him too, brother.

THANK GOD for Randy Savage making the save, brother. Otherwise, who knows what could have happened to the Hulkster, brother.

Muslims have something that offers the most clear proof of all - The Holy Quran. There is no other book like it anywhere on earth. It is absolutely perfect in the Arabic language. It has no mistakes in grammar, meanings or context. The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars. Predictions in the Quran have come true; and its teachings are clearly for all people, all places and all times.

Surprisingly enough, the Quran itself provides us with the test of authenticity and offers challanges against itself to prove its veracity. Allah tells us in the Quran:

Haven't the unbelievers considered if this was from other than Allah, they would find within it many contradictions?

Another amazing challange from Allah's Book:

If you are in doubt about it, bring a book like it.

And Allah challanges us with:

Bring ten chapters like it.

And finally:

Bring one chapter like it.

No one has been able to produce a book like it, nor ten chapters like it, nor even one chapter like it. It was memorized by thousands of people during the lifetime of Muhammad, peace be upon him, and then this memorization was passed down from teacher to student for generation after generation, from mouth to ear and from one nation to another. Today every single Muslim has memorized some part of the Quran in the original Arabic language that it was revealed in over 1,400 years ago, even though most of them are not Arabs. There are over nine million (9,000,000) Muslims living on the earth today who have totally memorized the entire Quran, word for word, and can recite the entire Quran, in Arabic just as Muhammad, peace be upon him, did 14 centuries ago.

I am a child of the 60's with a strict set of parents, which I resented like hell, and swore that I would never raise my child to same way. I was a mom of the 80's, and while I was strict, not nearly as bad as my parents. My only child turned out great. (Not just my opnion, other people tell me how polite and nice he is.)
People these days seem so hateful to others, calling other people names that are hurtful and mean. There is no such thing as being nice to strangers..it seems like MOST people are all about "me"...not others.
What can the average person do to remind others to be courteous?
