I took the Belief-Net Quiz, which had a result as 100% Roman Catholic, and then 96% Protestant.

Does this mean there is potentially only a 4% difference in the beliefs of Catholics and Protestants? If this is possible, then should we really be arguing, fighting, and killing one another over 4%?

(And yes, I am 100% Catholic. That also makes me 100% Christian.)

A lot of variation comes through the importance ratings you give your answers, I think. If you answered something specifically as a Catholic, but gave your answer low importance, that changes things.

The Belief-O-Matic's authors apparently knew absolutely nothing about Reconstructionist religions, indigenous folkways, or Asatru, however. Thing keeps telling me I'm 100% Orthodox Judaism!

I got 100 % Catholic and 100 % Eastern Orthodox, but only like 80% mainline Protestant so it certainly varies on which answers you pick.

great attempt Jen, I enjoyed that, and it gave an extremely precise set of outcomes for me, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that i'm afraid i'm no longer, like your self a liberal Protestant. My results of close suits are: a million. Neo-Pagan (one hundred%) 2. New Age (ninety two%) 3. Mahayana Buddhism (89%) 4. Unitarian Universalism (88%) 5. Liberal Quakers (86%) Neo Pagan rather lots hits it for me, and the different outcomes are exciting too, in being nearer to many different issues than i assumed. Have an wonderful day!

I wouldn't count on its accuracy. I took it and it said I am 100% Orthodox Quaker and 95% Secular Humanist. In reality I am neither. And both categories are incredibly different, yet I only had a 5% difference.

To the first answerer: Look up the Northern Ireland/Ireland border sometime. It's almost as close to a war-zone as Iraq.

Most Protestants are completely ignorant about how much of their beliefs come from Catholicism.

Labels, labels, labels. The quiz does not address Spiritualism or any of the New Thought religions either.

Mine said I was an orthodox Jew, followed by Sikhism, and finally Bahai or something like that.

I'm christian though. Strange.

when is the last time a Protestant killed a Catholic (or vice versa) over their religious beliefs?

And don't give me that IRA nonsense, because that's a political struggle, not a religious one.
