faith is required for >salvation< but it, like justification, is a one time thing - once really saved, your name is written in the Book of Life and it only has to happen once. Sanctification is what comes later and continues.

Faith is one of the gifts of the Spirit - some people naturally just have immense amounts of faith, and some people fluctuate. God can (and will) find ways to get back to you if you were really saved in the first place.

There are different sides to faith: the faith that Jesus died and rose and paid for your sins, and the faith that God reigns and is in control...in essence they're the same thing, but if you begin to lose faith... perhaps you're being tested.

Hmmm good question. I highly doubt that I will be dragged kicking and screaming into heaven someday. LOL But technically if you DO believe in "Once saved always saved" I'd be considered a christian too. I was christened as a baby, walked to the alter to ask Jesus to come into my heart (a few times actually)and baptised by my pastor/father as a preteen. Then I started questioning more and more until finally I was told that we're "not meant to know all the answers and god works in mysterious ways" and all that crap turned me away. Later I took a really good look at the bible and what it really said. Casual christians often have no idea how ruthless and savage their "god" was reported as being in their "holy bible". Now, I'm an atheist, and if I'm wrong and there really is a big nasty invisible sky pixie, I don't want to go to his house, he's insane!

Salvation?? From what? Death?
We all die, its a part of life. And people have a hard time accepting this fact, so they propose the existance of a soul, that continues living when were dead. Its a way to give people peace of mind that in a way they never really die. Which is bull spit.

The human race is like an energy wave particle. It has ups and downs(lives and deaths) that make it up. And they are both essential for the constant flow of energy and endirement of the human race.

There is no salvation in the religious sense, because that would imply a divine reward in the afterlife. Death is the cessation of existence; the end of all hope of life. Enjoy your time and space now, because we only get one bite at the apple. Let your salvation be a clear conscience and a full, satisfied heart on your deathbed. (May that be many years in the future.)

Great, *be* a person who loves to consider there's extra to existence than meets the attention. Just do not count on that such matters as you consider there possibly are honestly truly, and base you entire existence on them. Seriously, does not that look like a well method? Look at the entire countless numbers and countless numbers of "gods" and doctrines and legislation that humans have "religion" in. Different, contradictory, resourceful. They are not able to probably all be correct -- regardless that they might probably all be incorrect. How are we able to inform which, if any, are correct? A hot fuzzy feeling may not do it. The best solution to inform is through proof. Real, demonstrable, repeatable, goal proof. And that's precisely what's missing for *all* devout claims. There *can* be "well" derived from faith. There will also be best damage, and "evil." What my 50 years of enjoy have taught me is that "well" humans have a tendency to be so whether they comply with a few faith or feel in a few god, and "evil" humans have a tendency to be so whether they comply with a few faith or feel in a few god. So relatively, what you do or do not do is as much as YOU to come to a decision, whether or not or no longer you feel in a god. I could effortlessly endorse you bear in mind this one query: do you relatively feel there's an all-robust god, author of the universe, who will punish you for eternity -- regardless of how "well" you're -- effortlessly for no longer believing in him? When there is no proof any such factor exists? If you do, then cross forward and feel in him, however do not be a jerk to different humans approximately it. If you do not, then scrap the notion, reside a well existence, and do not be a jerk to different humans approximately it. Peace.

Don't worry once you have been baptized and saved you are always saved. You don't have to worry about loosing faith after that. You can even go out and kill someone after you are saved and it wont matter you will go straight to heaven when you die. Oh you're not Pentecostal....... Never mind!

That is an interesting conundrum. All religion is faith based. So as you lose faith, salvation being a Christian concept, what exactly have you lost?

The Bible documents that one can lose faith, but it helps to know what faith is first to tell if it's been lost. Faith is to our human spirit what our senses of smell, hearing, sight, etc. are to our bodies -- the method by which we detect things. Just like our bodies use our five senses to detect what is real in the natural realm, our spirit uses its senses of faith and discernment to determine what is real in the spiritual realm.

Faith is so much more than just mental belief. When we say that we "have lost faith," we are basically saying that we've allowed a part of our spirit to stop functioning; faith can dissipate and atrophy from lack of use, like an unworked muscle, or it can be damaged by wrong input, like a poisoned organ of your body.

Once you lose faith, you lose the ability to spiritually receive things from the Lord, to detect truth from error, to sense the reality of the spiritual realm; it all becomes dead to you, even salvation, in a sense, because you have lost the spiritual ability to receive it. God wants us to plug into His realm by the spiritual ability of our faith, because that is the part of our design that will last forever; that is the part He desires to develop so we can relate to Him spiritually.

How can you get it back? How do you reopen your ability of your spirit to receive things by faith? By searching for the facts that faith is based on. The Bible, for one, can and should be researched for the natural and historical facts that support and prove it. I recommend reading the testimony of others, like astrophysicist Hugh Ross of "Reasons To Believe" ministries, or the writings of former govt. cryptologist Dr. Chuck Missler (www.khouse.org), especially his book "Cosmic Codes". Read books about fulfilled biblical prophecy as well. But especially read the Bible; it is the word of God, specifically designed to release faith in the human spirit.

"So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17. Blessings!

It says that Jesus will leave the 99 safe ones and go out to find the lost ones. Sometimes that's only at the end of their life when they are in the hospital. He knows everyone that belongs to him and he is merciful.
