I am a JW's and I just love your story, I had some one knock on my door 7 years ago, and I WAS atheist. My life changed too I am so happy to know the "TRUTH". Please don't be discouraged by the mean comments your sure to get. Not everyone loves Jehovahs, right?
Matthew 5:10-12,
Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.

11 “Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. 12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU.
Matthew 10:17-17,
Be on YOUR guard against men; for they will deliver YOU up to local courts, and they will scourge YOU in their synagogues. 18 Why, YOU will be haled before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.
Matthew 10:21-22,
Further, brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child, and children will rise up against parents and will have them put to death. 22 And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

Notice it says on account of my name his name is Jehovah and we are called Jehovah's Witnesses. So we should be glad that we know we are God's true people.

The same reason in school Asians are not looked on highly. Asians have a high family regard for education and make better grades. As a generality, they make better grades and skew the grade curve. JWs know more about the Bible than most clergy. How would you like it if your income could be effected by a 12 year old? Or 16? If you continue your studies, you will.

The bigger reason is Jesus said we would be hated as we follow him in being no part of the world. Our loyalty is to Jehovah and the King of His kingdom, Jesus Christ. Not to any earthly political system. We have nothing to do with the false religions in the world especially those only claiming to be Christian. They prove by their actions they are not true Christians.

As you attend an assembly the difference will be greater. You feel something is different, but you are not sure what. Then it hits you, no smoking or cursing. Cops have a nice time off with pay, nothing for them to do. Trash is in cans, not on the ground. People leave their Bibles as seat savers, though we once left pocketbooks until some worldly thieves took that away when they understood what we did. On the whole, if you lose something, it will be at the lost & found. All of it. The information from the program will be spiritually uplifting and you will be encouraged to use your Bible to follow along just as at the regular meetings.

As for your prayer, I have heard of that happening before. The prayer of a honest hearted person sincerely wanting to know the truth being answered by a knock on the door.

Anyway, my best wishes go to you. May you have the happiness of Jehovah in your heart.

I think you see part of the problem looking at the answers you're getting here. Part(and only part) of the problem is people only know what someone ELSE told them about Jehovah's Witnesses.

"They prey upon the weak. " What about those of us who weren't weak or down when we first began studying?

"You will be cast out if you fall on financial hardship." LOL, that's really funny since most of us are not wealthy. This is actually the first time I heard that one...it was good for a chuckle.

"All they want is MONEY." So, why is there no tithe? How come no one passes a 'collection' plate? Why doesn't anyone in the congregation get paid for anything they do? How come most JW's are poor? Granted, there are wealthy congregations around the world, but there are also many with dirt floors.

"It's a CULT!!" Ahh, run away. LOL, another favorite of the uninformed and apostate. You already know this is untrue so I'm not even worried about it.

"We only know what OTHERS tell us." As you are now studying the Bible you know this is a lie. We know what the Bible teaches us, not man.

"They said the world would END in 1914." Nope, sorry, wrong answer. You're studying and I'm sure you know the answer to this little jewel. See what I mean, misinformation. :)

"NO BLOOD." Did you know the now regular 'bloodless' surgeries performed on millions was pioneered because of Jehovah's Witnesses? How many people, non-witnesses are now saved from infections and worse due to the fact they aren't being transfused with bad blood. There are also great fillers to pump up the blood volume you have until your body makes it's own.

"They don't believe in the Trinity!!" Nope, and as someone who wasn't raised a JW I can happily say I NEVER believed in the trinity. Not when I was a lutheran, and not now as one of Jehovah's people. It's a man made doctrine that has nothing to do with Scripture. This you also know.

So, keep on fighting the good fight, Jiam! It's well worth the struggle. May Jehovah keep blessing all of your efforts!

It is so nice to see young ones having a love for spiritual things, and not just spending all their time in fun pursuits.
I'm sorry you have had such a bad time lately. Life can be tough in the times we are living. 2 Tim 3: 1-5 "Critical times hard to deal with..."

Please do not worry about what others say about Jehovah's Witnesses, consider the source. Study the bible and see for yourself. Many things said are so untrue, and I'm sure you will come to realize that on your own.

You have seen first hand how Jehovah takes care of those who are searching for him. He makes sure they are found.
"Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you." James 4: 8 "For I, Jehovah your God, am gasping your right hand, the One saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I myself will help you." Isaiah 41: 13

Just remember that Jesus said we would be hated because we are no part of the world, just as he was no part of the world. John 17: 14 Jehovah's Witnesses have a true brotherhood worldwide without the prejudice due to race or nationality as you can see for yourself. We have "love among yourselves" John 13: 35

I hope you continue to learn about Jehovah and that you will one day be one of our brothers.

Jesus Christ told us that the world would hate his true followers because we are no part of the world as he was. (John 17:16)(James 4:4) At 1 John 5:19, it tells us that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one, so really should it surprise us that the world is so against Jehovah's people?Of course not!

Look at how many people in Israel of the millions love Jesus. He has done nothing but helping people to learn the truth about his Father Jehovah; cured the blind, the sicks, the lepro, he demonstrated to people about the resurrection, and invited them to seek God. 99.99% of his own people didn't even like him, what more are we expecting from others. If people can dislike a perfect good man like Jesus, what are we imperfect people to expect? Keep on the good work.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

I don't hate them---I think they live lives of incredible discipline and purpose. For the most part, they walk the walk and talk the talk. They have a great set of standards to live by in our dangerous and changing world. But that doesn't mean I believe their religious doctrines--or indeed any religious piffle. However, if it makes you happy, that's great. William James wrote something to the effect of ---there's nothing about the existence or nature of god that can be verified---the only truth about any religion is whether it produces beneficial results in its adherents. if it's good for you personally, then to that extent it is "true."

One has to start some where. God chooses and he directs...sure we have convictions and we have troubles on every side. This a temporary move. The spirit will come and show and teach you all things...does it matter about one if they are liked or not. Was Jesus liked by all? Prayer will bring about a change. Man does not, keep it up in prayer ...you will get and answer.

My mother told me the reason they did not call on us and take us kids to the meetings when Mom and Dad were unwilling to go is they only want people going there all the time if they have money. I've seen they are snobby after all, many of them, and none have kept up with me or checked to see if Dad had blown our heads off or what, so why should I be convinced they have brotherly love? They are recruiters and a cult. Some sincerely believe they are serving God so I guess they are, but many are just doing meaningless works they resent. They do not love all people. They believe in strange things that should make them want to become atheists if they truly believe some of those things. I think it's great that a JW offered you hope when you needed it. But how do you know it wasn't just God's way of helping you learn things about him so you know the way to go when you're older.

I did everything they wanted me to do and was totally interested for years. Yet they lost interest when my parents did and no one ever made friends with me. i was the only true believer in my parents house. They could have cared less I guess.... Now I don't believe at all.
