On what basis do fundies accept the canon of the New Testament? I mean, if the Catholic Church is wrong about so many other things, couldn't it have been wrong about what books were truly inspired?

Of course you say it should be from the wars that transferred parts from Mexico to US. That way you get a developed and prosperous region with no effort on your part. But lets go back to before the Spanish came since most of the ones flooding the US are decendents of the native indians and not the Spanish. At that time most were located around Mexico City and there is no evidence they invaded the territory known today as the US!!! That would be great today. Your response is welcomed.

Most people saying it's a choice are using science or holy text as their defense saying there is no "gay" gene. Interesting how they use science on this point, but not in other "religious" areas of thought.

Reality is science is studying this and they are finding that sexual orientation is part of who you are within yourself (possibly a function of your brain), so, not the DNA itself.

I wish we would not be so concerned about what others do that is not harming to anyone.

Do you agree for the most part people do not "choose" their sexual orientation? Shouldn't we love them and treat them just like anyone else? Why would they "choose" a life of discrimination? Maybe it's because it's not choice? Thoughts?

Didn't God look far enough into the future to see how many different interpretations would result from his book?

He couldn't have written a book more clearly such that anyone who chose to be christian would believe the truth and not someone's imagination?

God knowingly sewed the seeds of confusion in what is now his church by not writing a book that makes abundantly clear his will such that no one could misinterpret it?

Some people falsely believe that it is impossible to prove the unexistence of anything, but they are wrong. It can, for example, be proved that there is no even prime number greater than two. Other people use to say that there is no way to prove if there is a god or not, or even that we cannot get any knowledge of god (agnosticism). My opinion as a strong atheist, is that we can in fact prove that god does not exist in the physical world.

In the bible there are several times when God is ANGRY. Generally if WE know what is going to happen we don't get angry because we expect it. Should we not expect even more from a God who Knows everything. Especaily if I know end I WIN.

We would never notice god

This is not an evidence against god, but rather describes the lack of sense in praying to a god who stands above time.

If god stands above time and created time and space he can not be the first link in a time dependent chain of events. Rather he would affect every step in all chains, and we would only see god in the laws of physics (Davies, 1983, chapter 4). This god is an unnecessary entity to describe the world and should be removed with Occam's razor

If somebody would pray to god and god would listen, the laws would change to achieve the desired result. Thus the world would be different and the prayer would never have been said. Besides god would already (in an "above time" sense of view) know that you would pray, and already have changed the world. Prayers would be totally meaningless. We would already live in the best world possible, and any prayer would be to doubt the wisdom of god.

Even worse: For every prayer said, god has not acted, or else the prayer had been undone. This means that the more people have prayed, the more bad things in the world have persisted. Therefore, the more you pray, the more evil persist (provided god exists and stands above time).

A much better way to change the world is to do it yourself. Then you would know that it was you who made the world better. The effect of prayers are not scientific provable, whilst the effect of actions are. Instead of praying you should set to work at improving your situation. This is what humanism is about.

If you want an example of God's sadism, look no further than Job.

There is a man who loves God, and as the book turns out, is quite prepared to prove it, all of which God knew before ever he laid a hand on Job.

Yet, to prove a point to -satan-, God tortures poor Job beyond belief.

Deliberate, slow, unjustified torture, to prove a point to satan.

Read what I wrote in light of what he did to Job and tell me if I'm so far off track.

My thesis is that people who claim to believe in god do not really do so. They just wish to believe in god. They somehow feel that their lives are meaningless without god, so they choose to close their eyes to evidence against the existence of god. The christian view is well expressed by Cardinal Ratzinger:

"Religious liberty can not justify freedom for divergence. This freedom does not aim at any freedom relative truth, but concerns the free descicion for a person to, according to his moral inclinations accept the truth." (The times, June 27 1990, p9) [Translated to Swedish in the Swedish version of (Baigenth, Leigh, 1991) and then translated back to english by me]
also one persons in my last question said I have Anger issues to be dealt with, which is not the case at all, it is just a blind assumption. Most of the people trying to debunk my Reasons why I do not believe in god have failed to revert any of my reasonings so far.

Yes I am a great fool. I am not wise. I know nothing. I don't even have the slightest bit of knowledge about my own faith. I ask so many questions. I read so many things. I find more and more that I know less and less. I am not an expert on anything. There's just so much to know.

The only things I do know are these:

1 - I am a great fool.
2 - I don't know anything.
3 - I am weak.
4 - I fail my God on a daily basis.
5 - I'm sorry.

The Vile

Webster’s definition of vile is morally despicable or abhorrent or physically repulsive.

The bible says, “The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.” (Psalm 12:8) Do not be proud of your sins. If you are proud of your sins the bible calls you wicked.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. (Psalm 14:1) If you do not believe in God then you are a fool. The bible says there is no one who is good. If you do not believe in God then you are also corrupt and your deeds are vile.
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:2-5) Those who are vile do not do what is righteous. A person who does what is righteous despises a vile man.
I will set before my eyes no vile thing. (Psalm 101:3) We are not even supposed to watch vile things. Do you watch vile things on TV? Do turn off any channel that shows something vile?
While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, "Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him." The owner of the house went outside and said to them, "No, my friends, don't be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don't do this disgraceful thing. Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But to this man, don't do such a disgraceful thing." (Judges 19:22-24) This passage says it is wrong or vile to have sex with the same sex. This is not an ok life style with God. This is a sin that leads to death. If you are living a homosexual life style, then repent and turn from your wickedness. God loves you and wants to help you. You cannot get help unless you ask God. You have to want to change. God will not make you change. If you do not change you then the bible says, “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." This passage is basically saying if you do not turn from your wickedness, then you will go to hell and not go to heaven.

I went to some friend's house for dinner. One of the guests was eating her pie for dessert and wanted a bannana on it. She just took a bannana and cut half of it and put it on her pie. She left the other half and did not even ask the host if she coudl do that.

This showed poor taste that she was undignified in my mind.
