In last year's Toronto PRIDE parade, there were uniformed Mounties (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in the march. They were holding hands, and one of them held a sign that read, "Just Married". Someone else in their group was holding a sign that read, "The Mounties always get their man" (which is actually a slogan that is attributed to them.) They were met with huge cheers and applause.
We also had lots of uniformed City of Toronto police officers marching in the parade, many of them holding hands.
Yes, it is awesome, for sure.

I think it's great! Anyone should be allowed to marry the person of their choice. I'm happy to see that gay marriage is catch on in a few places. The rest of the world needs to catch up.
I also find it sad. What is sad about it is that it is such big news. If it were more common, it wouldn't be such big news. One day it will be no big deal, just another marriage. Just like interracial marriage used to be a big deal and now it's not.

yes, I read about it a while ago..I think they probably are married by now...Gay marriage is rapidly becoming an 'everyday' thing here in Canada now.
