You can't tell a person they didn't see what they saw without brainwashing them into thinking they didn't see it. or hear it or feel it or smell it etc.

You can't prove that a person didn't see (or hear, feel smell etc.) what they did. so why say its imaginary just because you can't see hear feel or smell it.

Instead of saying something like God, ghosts, and other supernatural things aren't real either prove that they aren't real or quit telling people they aren't unless you can prove it

Shouldn't we have the freedom to believe whatever we want without scorn or ridicule? The earth does not move. It is at the center of the universe.

I don't consider Islam as a such major problem until a group of moslem lunatic crashed two plane into WTC....

What do you think then? How should we deal with those lunatic?

PS: Can any Moslem explain why the prophet mohammed engaged with a 6-year-old girl and married her while she was still 9 years old? Is there any good reason for this (social or political reason)? If there's no good reason, isn't mohammed a paedohilia?

what do organizations like American Atheists do? I mean, how do you push for a "non-belief" agenda before starting to look as crazy as all other deist religions?

I have noticed that the more I learn in the science field the more amazed I am that it all happened due to a "big bang" or other wild coincidence. Everything in nature is so symmetrical and balanced and circular. It seems to have been planned very carefully, in a huge intricate plan. For instance the human genome has taken decades to map. This does nothing to disprove God as far as I'm concerned; instead, the complexity and absolutes in science tend to convince me that a supreme creator must exist. What are your thoughts??

If I am a man then my voice is the voice of a man, If i say that a man has a voice of a woman, I am insulting or denigrating him.

What do you think?

Okay, first off I want to say I'm not mocking atheists at all. I just have a genuine question for you:

Given that most of you on this site seem to rely heavily on logic and reason to determine what you believe is true, what experience have you had in college-level philosophy classes? I don't mean classes like History of Philosophy, Logic, or Utilitarianism...I mean more contemporary classes such as Postmodernism, Deconstructionism, etc. Philosophy today seems to reject Modernism's reliance on rationality, so I'm just wondering how you faired in such Postmodern classes. Thanks!

I just finished up going #2 at work...and I left the stall to go wash my hands.

As I was leaving, a co-worker entered the stall presumably to do his business...

As I was washing my hands I could hear him grabbing one of those toilet seat covers and applied it to the toilet seat.

I am DISGUSTED by this...I believe this to be the ultimate sign of disrespect. Why on earth would he feel the need to cover the seat after I used it? I am certainly a clean guy...

I'm seriously looking to pull him aside in the break room and confront him on this.

...has anyone else ever been insulted like this before?

Firstly, I have no idea if this applies to Catholic schools. Never been to one, so I can't tell you. Secondly, I don't need my soul saved. If you're right and I'm going to burn eternally, I'd rather do it for something I believe in. Now on to the question.

From my experience, I'm glad I escaped the indoctrination. We were taught never to question and never ever to rock the boat. We were taught to dress alike, act alike, and not be extremely smart. I've never seen so many affairs in my life, and most of them got off with "The devil made me do it", then we were told never to discuss it.

Is this what the Christian church is becoming?

And for the students: Are you a stronger Christian today because of it? Or did it do you like me and turn you against the church or make you convert to another religion?

People preach about god on here and in life the more people preach to me the more I hate religion and the farther away they push me. Do they think by preaching they are going to make me think about changing my mind and going to "god"? The more people push it on me the more I back up so why don't they see what they are doing? They want people to turn to "god" but they push people back.

I just find it hard to imagine people can find words which mean sex, bum, willy or poo personally offensive.

O SERVANT, where dost thou seek Me? Lo! I am beside thee.
I am neither in temple nor in mosque: I am neither in Kaaba nor in Kailash:
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies, nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker, thou shalt at once see Me: thou shalt meet Me in a moment of time.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Electric word, life. It means forever and that's a mighty long time. But I'm here to tell you there's something else - the afterworld. A world of never-ending happiness. You can always see the sun, day or night. So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills, you know the one, Dr. Everything'll-Be-All-right, instead of asking him how much of your time is left, ask him how much of your mind, baby. 'Cause in this life, things are much harder than in the afterworld. In this life, you're on your own. And if de-elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy ………"

I have to agree.

While individual Scientologists can be, for the most part, good people, the organization itself is both powerful, dangerous, and vengeful. There is much we already know about what the cult has done to people, the lies it has spread, the lives they have ruined, and what they charge their members for treatments that do nothing.

Some people compare this to the Catholic church, but today's modern Catholic church won't force you to pay tens of thousands of dollars for anything, nor will they threaten you for not attending the church or participating. It really is comparing apples and oranges.

What is your opinion on Scientology? Dangerous cult, or harmless nonsense? Or perhaps you think it helps people.

I think that it has made Tom Cruise worse, not better.

I had been dating this person for over a year and was getting ready to break up with her. She came up and stayed over a couple of weeks ago and then the following Thursday she called to inform me that she was going to Indiana with her sister. She was supposed to call me and let me know when she got back. That was supposed to have been on the following Sunday. I have not heard from her yet. I have called and left 2 messages this week on her cell and gotten no response yet. Here's the problem. On Wednesday of this week, I tried to use my Visa debit card and the sale was declined. I called the bank and there had been 2 internet sales amounting to almost $700.00 done that day. I had them cut the card off. I am pretty sure she stole my account # off my card. I still have the card. She is the only one that has had access to the card besides me. I filed a police report for fraud. I gave her as a suspect. Do you think it was wrong to suspect her?

There are so many interpretations of the bible and those people who interpret it think they are 100% right and won't question theirselves when someone comes up with a different interpretation. If so many people interpret the bible differently and believe they are 100% right how do we know these people are right at all and why would God allow a book to be written that is claimed to be his word that can't be universally interpreted to mean the same thing no matter who reads it? Especially when the people who read it think that their interpretation is the right one and can't be convinced otherwise
