I am a self-supporting missionary. The way I became a missionary was through prayer. My husband and I deteremined we would serve the Lord in whatever capacity He placed us in. We beagen praying, seeking His will for what He would have us to do. We studied His word and studied some more.
(We owned two businesses at the time.)
We began contacting others in missions work and talking with various preachers as well. We would do whatever he lead us to. In the interim we bought books. We bought Bibles and commentaries, etc (thinking that if He sent us out of the country we would have these resoureces at our disposal) and we studied.
One day we had purchased several books and as my husband brought in a box full he stated something like "how wonderful it would be to share them" with others.
Well the doors opened here in Belize for us to begin a Biblical Resource Center. The businesses had not sold, but we determined to do whatever teh lord would ave us to do...so we decided to simply close the doors and leave at the end of the year. On Thanksgiving weekend we opened our house for the first of 3 indoor 'yard' sales.
We sold all of our personal belongings that we could and gave the rest away. Two weeks from the end of the year the businesses sold!
In 6 wks from start to finish we left Massachusetts and headed to Belize.
Now...I said all of that to say PRAY...and then PRAY some more...and then PRAY all the more. When you aren't praying study His word, for therein can be found His will and if it is His will He will show you the what and the how. He will open the doors.
Did I mention prayer? Pray for His will to be done in your life. Pray for Him to open the doors and make a way for you. Pray without ceasing. and when you have prayed and prayed, pray some more.

God speaks to us through His Word, through prayer, and through other people. If He is calling you to do something in the ministry, He will bring it out everytime you read the Bible. He will put a feeling inside of you that just makes you know that is what you are supposed to do. He will also use other people to talk to you about it.
God called me to preach, and it was very evident even though I tried to deny it. I hate public speaking; it terrifies me. But, in those three areas, God let me know that was what His plan for my life was.

These people that you have mentioned are workers of THE LORD GOD-THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. As chosen ones of GOD, they are called for their works through dreams and visions; and the worker as chosen ones among natural men are inspired by a call for these works. The chosen ones of GOD are Prophets and Saints who incarnated on earth from celestial heaven where they were born as spirits before time began in the CITY OF GOD, THE HOLY CITY JERUSALEM; while the chosen ones among natural men their spirits were created from the gold dust and silver dust of the earth. The natural mens' spirit were created from the ordinary dust of the Earth and satan's spirit from the mud of the earth and the demons from the clay of the Earth.THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. All ministry is a calling......
If it's yours, then God will open doors for you in such a way as to confirm this in your heart.
He will plant the desire in our hearts.........and He will make the way.
