I don't consider Islam as a such major problem until a group of moslem lunatic crashed two plane into WTC....

What do you think then? How should we deal with those lunatic?

PS: Can any Moslem explain why the prophet mohammed engaged with a 6-year-old girl and married her while she was still 9 years old? Is there any good reason for this (social or political reason)? If there's no good reason, isn't mohammed a paedohilia?

Mainline Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are not a threat to anyone. All three families of Abrahamic faith reject murder and terrorism.

A few sick or evil individuals of each of these groups reject these peaceful faiths, twist their teachings, and do horrible things.

We should not judge all Jews, Christians, or Muslims by the actions of a few.

With love in Christ.

Fanaticism is the real culprit. I don't care which flag they carry or what religion they tout, it's the zanies that are the problem.

Another person tried to answer by saying it's the world leaders that are the problem, and that is a part of it (where do these terrorists get their technology and weaponry anyway? ...hmm Cheney and Rumsfeld back in the 1980's anyone?), but Bin Laden is not a world leader and he was the mastermind behind 9/11. He also stated that he committed the crimes because of our ties to Israel and our ties to the Saudi family. Sure we're infidels and must die, but he attacked the actions of our country as he feels they infringe on his world. So, sure, he's a nut-case and he's dangerous, but it's not his religion that solely inspired this action.

However, the situation in Europe with Islamic fundamentalism is disturbing.

In general dogmatic delusions are dangerous. The source is somewhat inconsequential. Certainly, a delusion that is supported by the majority of a society (i.e. religion) poses a greater potential threat. A leader can be proven wrong or judged on his/her merits. Can a god?

By today's measure, he was a pedophile. In his time, in that culture and place, probably not. Sometimes it was common for betrothments to take place and years later then the marriage would happen. Sounds like I'm defending it, but I am not.
Personally, I think he was a real troubled nut. There are other reasons why I say that, but I won't go into that here.
About the threat-
Actually, there IS a threat. They are worldwide, and they DO have an agenda. The people in the religious community have been divided by their liberalist/fundamentalist outlooks, so the ones that CAN give anyone an accurate piece of help in understanding the present situation are not even taken seriously..by anyone.

Do not judge Islam for its people, judge it for what it preaches, and of course if it makes sense...

so Muslims are a billion or so right? and only a group of them who obviously are extremist crashed the planes into WTC, which to some is just considered a theory that the Al-Qaida was behind it...

the threat is not Islam, the threat is extremism, extremist from any religion are the threat for they are brainwashed..

and about the prophet (PAPBUH), yes he did marry Aisha when she was very young, but it was not his idea, first of all a woman from their tribe suggested it...and Aisha was engaged to some other man before him.
Abu Bakr (Aisha's father and Mohammed's best friend) suggested that so his family can be related to Mohammed (PAPBUH) for he believed that Mohammed (PAPBUH) was a prophet from God

for you to understand you must believe that the prophet (PAPBUH) was a real prophet with a message from God, for God said in the Quran that Mohammed (PAPBUH) was a role model for all Muslims, therefore, he was inspired by God to marry Aisha..
and the prophet (PAPBUH) went through all different kinds of marriages to set the example to Muslims, he married the virgin (Aisha), the widow (two or three other women), the Christian, the Jew, the divorced, the old, the sick and on..
if that didn't happen Muslims nowadays would speculate if they should get married to any of those kinds of women...

another thing, it was very very common for men to marry much younger women, even Quraysh (the biggest enemy of Islam and Mohammed (PAPBUH) at that time) did not oppose to that or criticize it...

and aren't pedophiles always lusting after women? then why did the prophet (PAPBUH) marry only one young virgin?
and why did he wait two years after his wife who was older than him passed away ??
Aisha was married to him for another reason, for she was young she was capable to memorize his actions and saying and later became a great teacher to Muslims and specially women, for she was part of his family and witnessed his daily actions and spoke of his personal side as a family man for others to be like.

So, he isn't a pedophile ..

Islam is just behind Judaism and Christianity on the evolutionary scale. If we survive another 500 years, Islam will have it's enlightenment, the parts of the Koran that preach hatred and violence will be abandoned (just as those same verses in the Old Testament that preach hatred and violence have been abandoned) and the world will live on in peace.

Christianity is indeed a threat to our civil liberties, but it is not currently a threat to our lives (except indirectly through Bush's Holy Wars against Radical Islam).

Religion is just the excuse that the delusional and crazed use to try and dignify what they are doing. In my humble opinion these people are mad with rage as a result of their own upbringing, not anything else. Why can't the media ignore them? They are really getting off on their notoriety. I think they should be treated like naughty children and given no attention until they do something good! Maybe there should be a naughty corner where these nutters have to sit. Bring back the stocks I say!! :)

The Koran does not teach violence. Not all Muslim R a threat, just the radicals who have taken the Koran and twisted it to their benefit. We R dealing with them in Iraq, Afghanistan and in the UK to name a few. And as for Mohammed he did because he could. By today's standards he would have been a pedophile. But things were different back then, right or wrong it was excepted.

first of all do u have any eye wittnes who say that the 911 incident was caused by muslim...no... all u know is what media is telling you... because media is totally against Islam b/c Islam stops them from showing unhealthy things on the screen and show blood on the screen... You know that in Islam the blood of human being is prohibited it is only legal in the war field and those people who tries to prove my religion as the religion of terrorists only quote the verses which is for the war feild...

Prophet Mohammad(peace be upon him) did 11 marriages and all the marriages were of different kind i.e, he marriaged Hazrat khadija(r.a) and she was of 45 and Prophet was only of 25..likely he marriged widows and other womens to set an example that it is not a sin ..Similarly he marriaged a lady of 9 years named as Hazrat Aisa(r.ar) to set an example to other that it is not wrong.....note:but for muslims only 4 marriages(if he can do justice among them) is allowed.....and other reason for marring her was that she remain alive for a long thime and show the Muslims that how to practice Islam..

May Allah guide you

Islam is not a threat, it is the small minority of radical fundamentalists that is a threat. It is unfair to tarnish almost two billion people because of the actions and inclinations of a few of their members. And if someone says that those who are not radicals are just as bad if they don't speak out or act against the radicals, why is it their responsibility, just because they're also Muslim? Are all Christians supposed to speak out against those who are protesting at soldiers' funerals?

As to his marriage to Aisha, it was customary at the time, and her age wasn't considered too young. He agreed to marry her after the father of her original betrothed called off the marriage due to her being Muslim. If he was a pedophile, why were none of his other wives that age?
