I'm reading this great book that's the entire Bible written as a novel (The Book of God - by Walter Wangerin). It's a good way for a new Christian to get a grasp of things, people, events. I'm enjoying it so much. But..
I'm up to where Moses just died. And I have to say, so far, things and people have been pretty wicked! Lying, betrayal, unbelief, scheming! Um.... does it get better??

I don't quite understand the Trinity. I never have.
I always thought that God was Jesus' father.... and the Holy Spirit, I never have understood that.
I wish someone could explain, how all 3...God, Jesus,and the Holy Spirit are one thing? I always look at them as 3 different things...

Can someone also explain exactly what is the Holy Spirit?

It's not that I don't want kids inside my home. The problem is they're not disciplined. I had a gathering awhile ago and my friend's kid was jumping on my sofa. I don't want to be the one to discipline the kid, I don't feel that that's my responsibility. Is it wrong for me to not want to invite my friend's kids to my home? How do I deal with the situation if it happens again? OR what's an appropriate way to let my friends know that their kids aren't invited?

It just makes me so mad to hear homosexuals say something like that. Don't they realize that God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve so their very lifestyle choice is immoral? Am I the only one that thinks like this?

The Earth was created in 7 days!!!! Can you believe that? I wonder what I can make in seven days?

Homosexuals are condemned to hell! Why was I ever a hag? I will never be again.

That if I read this I can treat people terribly and have a superiority complex over them! I have waited for that all my life!!

No matter how much I sin I can be forgiven if I repent right before I die! I can treat people so badly now! That lights my fire!!!!

Why are you seeing less and less stray cats in your neighborhoods? Its b/c i am building a grand cat army! I have spent the past 30 years constructing cat armor and cat automatic weapons. Even suicide cats. i am not talking about walking down the street with a few hundred or even thousand cats. i am talking about millions of them. The PAW or Pussycat Army Waves will b relentless and they will be commanded by napolean Dynamite, no less. the time is at hand. laugh today, cry and beg for mercy tomorrow.

The statement 'something coming from nothing' implies causality which in turn implies temporality. Suppose we take time out of the equation. What then? 'It's infinity, and infinity is god', I surmise would be the theist response. Infinite time still implies temporality.
I know there are some big words in here for my target audience, but how can you so-called rational theists address this without at some point breaking down to the childish response of: 'infinity, no sayings back'?

Okay now that people have reminded me of Muhammed or however u spell his name, i also recall learning that he came up to a priest and asked about Christianity, then he went up to a Rabbi and asked about Judaism.

Then from that he formed Islam? I think? So if he did that,

then why do a lot of people in the Middle East hate Christians and Jews?

i mean their religion came from both right?

Help! I have a friend who's birthday is July 4th. A close, but new friend, you know?
I've known him allmost a year. We went on a few dates, but aren't really dating. He's interested and I want to just be friends. We hang out with mutual friends a lot.

So, I need your help! Nothing too personal, but more than a generic cologne, gift card or such. He has everything related to his varied interests.
Nice wine seems impersonal and we drink that often, so it doesn't seem unique.
I would love to think of something really unusual and different.

He loves music but has any cd you can think of. He loves travel and especially Australia where he lived a while. He has tons of things from there; books, clothing, etc. I can't think of something related to there though that would be great.

He's not wealthy, but loves culture; art, music, books. He's a good photographer, but has all that stuff. Very smart, very funny. I'd like to buy but also make a little something. Help!!
