Many Churches support gay rights and welcome openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual individuals and couples into their congregations. Many also ordain openly GLBT persons to serve as pastors. And many do not.

What has been the response of your church and yourself to this summer's Gay Pride Festivals?

The myth of hell is an absurdity that makes Easter Bunny believers look like Rhodes Scholars.

Support for Easter Bunny:

1. Bunney's do exist
2. Kids do often get gifts during Easter that they cant explain the origin of.

Support for Hell

1. Zip - Demons, Devils, Genies, Ghouls and Goblins dont f***ing exist.

People who believe in the Easter Bunny believe that a very intelligent Bunny gives gifts to kids that it has some knowledge about.

While absurd, this absurdity looks like flawelsss logic compared to the stupid stupid stupid belief that Satan exists and is slow-roasting humans for all eternity, the most horrific and unjust possible conception that is described as "justice from God".

People who believe this stupidity honestly shouldnt ever be teaching. No joke, no exagerration here. I realize this sentiment is not likely to be law in my lifetime, but as is often the case, the herd rambles blindly in this respect.

I'm just wondering, since you became religious, have you ever doubted your beliefs, or your faith?

If you aren't religious, have you ever considered that there might be a right religion? or becoming religious?

This has been really bothering me for a long time. I think of people who are blind deaf and paralyzed. It must be such a hard and painful life.

Then I realize that God might be talking to these people, helping, showing them spiritual things. I realize they can no longer see physical things, but they can have SPIRITUAL activity.

Is there any Srciptural support that God does this? (Jeez, i hope so, cuz this has been really depressing me)

I never saw anything extraordinary about them. They're just people. I never saw any indication of any vast contribution to humanity, never saw any reason to imagine they are gifted with superior intellect. Now it turns out - in addition to fundies - even atheists think jews are superior beings. Why?

If you are a good person and you haven't committed any major sins during your life and you love God but believe in the wrong version and God is all powerful and can see the future, why would he create someone just so they can burn in Hell forever when they die?

How is this fair?

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

Here are some verses that I found:
As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” Psalm 16:3

But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’ Daniel 7:18

But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. Romans 15:25

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 1 Corinthians 1:2

for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,Ephesians 4:12

Sound to me like the saints are those that follow Christ on earth and in heaven. I would not want anyone to pray to me. Christians should not pray to other believers in God. We should pray to God only.

I know that there are some people who get money and don't contribute much to themselves or society, but there are a lot of people that are doing things like going to school, doing things like studying outside of school and working to at least get themselves somewhere.

I myself don't drink alcohol or do drugs. I buy one pack of cigarettes when I get my pay and most of the rest I'll invest in myself. I have bought myself tools which I use to work on projects.

A man told me that I just have the energy to keep on going.

If you believe there is only one god, and you believe that this is a logical conclusion to observing the world, could you explain why?

There are no other species of one being. Miracles happen for people in every religion. Many religion's holy books say their gods exist. I've seen nothing to indicate that one god is the right god for all people, or that one god exists.

The Path to a particular god may be narrow, and no one might get to one god but by the intercession of his incarnation, but that doesn't mean there are no other gods?

Isn't it more likely that multiple non-omnipotent gods exist than one omnipotent god, especially since there is fairly strong evidence against an omnipotent god worth worshipping?

Can you tell me a reason why I should believe *YOUR* particular version of the "One God" over another's, or over polytheism?

It seems logic allows only no gods or many.

I am a card-carrying member of the Gay nation. I am willing to give it all up, and become straight. All I want is for someone to explain two things in/about the Bible without actually quoting it, or reciting what's been drilled into their heads.

1. so what happened with Jesus for 12 years? are you really gonna expect me to believe that he hid out under a rock?

2. why did a group of people need to get together to decide what should/should not be in the Bible? after all, if it is a historical account of those times, why feel the need to leav ecertain things out?

Just so you know I believe Jesus is God.
If you say your Savior is God and not Jesus here is a verse to think about: Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24 Jesus claimed to be the savior of the world, if you do not believe this you will die in your sins.

If you say Jesus here are some verses for you: And there is no other God besides Me,
A just God and a Savior;
There is none besides Me. (Isaiah 45:21) Only God can be your Savior.
Do you believe Jesus is an angel then read this verse:
Do you not know that we shall judge angels? 1 Corinthians 6:3
If you believe Jesus is the Angel Micheal do you think you will be able to judge your savior?
The only way all of these verse make since is if Jesus is not an Angel but is are God and Savior.
Thomas knows who Jesus is And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28

I'm 16 and Atheist, i've been atheist for about 4 years and its been driving me insane having to go to church with my parents, and act like im Christian. A couple of my friends know, but i havent told any friends that would tell my parents. I'm not sure if i should wait until i leave for college to tell them, because when they found out my brothers did drugs when they were in high school, they kicked them out of the house until they passed a drug test. I don't want to have them overreact and kick me out. I have been going crazy not telling them though, sometimes i can barely stand to look at them because they act like god controls every aspect of there life; it's just i dont want to be kicked out of my house.
