Why do people make such a big deal about dressing up when going to worship services? I went to my cousins church(he's mormon) and everyone was staring at us cuz we weren't dressed up all fancy. I mean it shouldn't matter what we wear, as long as we are there worshiping the Lord. Anyone agree?

No I do not believe the Church replaced Israel. Paul even stated that is not true. Paul stated that those that believed after Jesus was crucified were "grafted in" with those that believed before Jesus was crucified. Well that is not my real question...I just thought I would throw it out. OK did Jesus die for the sins of all the world? Does that mean Jesus died for Jews and Gentiles? If Jesus died for the Jews then why are they still concidered special? Is there some other way for the Jews to gain favor or salvation with God? As I know the Law of Moses never granted anybody salvation. So here is the forbidden question. This is for Christians to answer. If a Jew that does not believe in Jesus obeys the Torah, the Tanuk, the Talmud or whatever else they are required to obey and Loves Jehovah God with all their heart...are they granted eternal salvation? Once again I am talking about a Jew that clearly rejects Jesus as Savior but claims that they Love God with all their heart?

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
John 8:54

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:29

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me
John 7:16

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Matthew 19:17

and why catholics insist that Jesus is God!? ins't these verses very clear that Jesus and God are two different things?

Yesterday I had a thought about Scientology, having to do with the reason for that cult's inclusion of the ridiculous teachings about Xenu and the origin of body Thetans. I'm sure that many of you already know of this principle of Scientology (and also realize how stupid it is). Well, it seems that only once a member of the cult reaches a level called OT-3 and is declared "clear," is he or she allowed to hear this teaching. Originally, I thought that it was ridiculous that anyone could believe this load of crap, but then I remembered that the cult of Scientology utilizes brainwashing to gain members. I think that the reason that Scientology teaches this absurd teaching only once a member has reached OT-3 is because that is the stage at which brainwashing is complete. If the member walks out, then the cult knows that their brainwashing was unsuccessful. But if the member is dumb enough to accept that teaching, then they know that the brainwashing was a success. Any thoughts?

the assailent was charged with two counts of murder. One count for killing the woman and one count for killing the unborn child. I agree with the two murder counts. What I don't understand is why some people regard killing this unborn child as murder but aborting an 8 mo. fetus/child isn't murder! Why would groups, (including womens rights groups) call this murder but the same womens rights groups are pro abortion? Is it because of who took the childs life? The manner taken? A life is a life, regardless of who volinterliy takes it. The child is innocent in both cases. This murderer evidently used a gun. A doctor (via the mothers approval) uses a scapel/knife and more. One way is by the mother's will, the other isn't, but the result is the same...death. A gunshot would cause the fetus little or no pain. Abortion is more inhuman than using a gun. Now tell me that abortion isn't murder!! Why??

Today my car broke down, with my son(17), and my daughter and her best friend. We were about 5 miles from home, and my car overheated. The temp. guage doesn't work, and the radiator fan doesn't either, I found out. Luckily, my car shut down in front of a gas station at an intersection. We pushed it in,sat there for a while in the 90 degree heat, trying to call my husband, who didn't answer the phone. A couple of times, people came up to me and offered us a ride home. I declined. Then, a man came up and offered us help, and when he came out of the store, he said that he was a reverend, incase we felt funny or anything. I asked him if he'd give my son a ride home, so he could get his truck, and pull my car back. So he did. My son is responsible for his own truck payments, and has been out of work for two weeks, and we've been stressing from giving him $ for gas, and impending truck note. We got home OK, after my son came. Then he told me that the reverend had offered him a job landscaping.

This is a serious question and asked in an honest way. I'm perplexed as to why an athiest would be involved in a spiritual and religious group. If God has no meaning in your life why even bother being here?

at my church people always argue about salvation and the doctrines...i really dont see the point of this...doesnt God want us to be humble? then are people arguing...to prove themselves right? how is this being more humble then other people? Also...this really affect the way non-christians look at....and not just that, these doctrines are creating wrong ideas for new christians .....
The way i see it....we should all try not to set ourselves into a certian "side" thus we dont have to argue or judge

....i need you guys' opinions on this matter
ty God bless

If you don't believe in anything you can't rightly be called a hypocrite, so is it better to believe in nothing at all? Is it a child molester with no remorse less a dangerous to society than a person who believes it child molestation is wrong but still molests children? Is it better to have a high ideal and fall short (be a hypocrite) or have no ideal at all?

The universe is far older than 6000 years, mankind did not originate from a Caucasian couple, snakes and donkey’s do not talk and when a person dies, they do not come back to life, to name but a fraction a the bibles falsities. A book, a doctrine, a way of life, a dominator of human consciousness, a dominator of freakin humanity itself, is a false representation! Sorry, I’m just very passionate about this. It’s not possible to not be aware of this, so why do they still insist that it is the inspired word of God? Why would God inspire a false representation of reality?

Not to mention:
1. All the different races that have been situated across the globe.
2. All types of animals that would have to be distributed correctly and somehow migrate across oceans from one location.
3. All the water required to cover the entire earth and be released at such force and speed to do it in 40 days.

I could say more but I will stop there. Not only is this fairy tale an insult on the mind, it is a slap on the face of God.
